Every day seems so long. M18x please come home.... I ordered on 10/04/2011
-
What's the problem with your m18x ???
-
-
Oops, I forgot that the dates do not like being written everywhere and I thought that your m18x was commissioned April 10, 2011!
-
Checking status 3 times a day. Still no change yet: (
Comon "Shipped" status.
Oh well patience..... ARRRG I just remembered I have no patience. -
Does this graphics card come 3D Ready for Games? 1.5GB nVidia GTX 560m? I've read it does. I'm awaiting my m18x to come in, but was just curious all I have to buy are the 3D Glasses correct?
-
YAY. Mine is being Shipped (Next Day); I should get it by tomorrow!!!
-
How many working days was yours "In Production"?
-
-
-
i ordered it a week ago. It was sent through as priority.
-
-
BOOOOOOO, just got a call from Dell saying they just wanted to update me and manufacturing updated from the 18th to the 15th so that means I porbably wont get it untill next Monday the 17th. Owell, not at lucky as Maitai
-
basically if you try to order any video card thats "dual", you get an error that says:
im getting annoyed now, since i am ready to order the one i want (580m's in SLI), but i cannot since its not a 330W adaptor. Ima call tonight to try and resolve this, but i already sent numerous emails to them.
anyone else tried calling them before? are they easy to work with? -
I know Dell has been having a shortage of the 330W adapters but I find it hard to believe they would limit people to singe card systems over it. I tried building one on the EPP site and its not responding for me so maybe they are glitching out.
Either way, call them up and see what they tell you and negotiate a better deal at the same time. -
The M18x from the outlet was delivered, certified refurb not a scratch and dent. There are scratches on the lid and on the front corners - through to the metal underneath the red paint job. Have spoken with Dell and it's going back for a refund. Was worth trying the outlet but I'll steer clear next time. One other thing, the PSU supplied was a 240W one (same part no as people have received with their M17X R3's) so it wouldn't have been able to power the dual graphics cards properly anyway!
I've ordered a new M18x, has cost me a fair bit more but I want new and untarnished so accept that i need to pay for it. Used the 15% off coupon to cover costs of upping the warranty and accidental damage to 3 yrs apiece. -

The AAFES site is very limited in what you can select for options. I would contact them directly instead of dealing with Dell. It's worth the trouble in the end to avoid tax+shipping costs and charge it to your STAR card. I just bought an M17xR3 for the wifey from them
If you can't get anywhere with AAFES, see if you can just have dell swap the power supply out for you when you get your new system. You shouldn't have a problem using the 240 watt in the meantime. Just don't overclock. You can always disable SLI for the time being as well.
Here a member stated that he's never measured over 309watts being pulled from his power supply, and that was with 580sli heavily overclocked and his 2920xm at 4.5ghz. -
. and this is all from AAFES, not from dell, i didnt have time today, so ima call tomorrow.
-

Well in that case I would just call them like you mentioned. I'm sure they can place the order over the phone for you.
-
The Dell guy at AAFES is pretty good, and willing to work with you.
-
edit: just called, the chick said he wasn't there and to call back in about 30 minutes. ill post back on how it goes.
2nd edit: so i talked to the guy, and he confirmed the problem and said that he cant even fix it since its the "webmasters fault". he said he'll take it up his chain and it should be fixed in a few hours, no later than the end of the day.
so good news! ill also post up later to confirm its fixed. -
Bummer My machine is still in production.
Looks like I will have to wait until next week.
5 working days in production mode. -
7 buisness days in production for me (ordered the 5th) and got a call a little bit ago saying my estimated delivery date is back to the 18th with overnight shipping.
-
the m18x is fully ready to be ordered from AAFES!
-
As I was watching the Tigers play those dogs got me into Shipping.

Congrats nailgunn!!
-
-
To think this is assembled in China and delivered in 9 days.. not to bad.
Let us see how well it has been assembled -
**EDIT** Disregard, seems Dell doesnt build in the US anymore. That would account for the great quality control these days
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell -
The outlet M18x I have here states "Computer Assembled in U.S. on the box."
-
Just checked and my system is shipping out today! Been in production total 9 days, 7 buisness days.
Wonder if they will try to deliver it tomorrow since its saturday? -
they are assembled here in austin. i know a couple guys that are techs in the
plant. i ordered my m18x on the 5th of oct and its due to arrive on the 18th. -
HURRRR I can't wait! Order placed on 10/10, still in production

Congrats. I hope you enjoy your new system. On a positive note, my wife's computer came in after only a week and a half. You might just get your computer sooner than you think.
-
Im trying to keep my cool and I know Im just anxious but I paid for overnight shipping and of course, dell ships it out Friday so it wont be here untill Monday. Not quite overnight but could be worse and they could have waited untill Monday to send it out but I just got word that it has made it here to a sorting facility about 20 minutes from the house. I call Fedex and ask if I can come by and pick it up and they say Dell has a restriction in place and they must attempt delivery at least once. So now I have to wait 2 more days with it being that close. Frustrating and honestly if people pay for overnight they should get overnight!!
-
-
Any idea when the discount codes will hit for the M18x? Looks like the only model without the discount promos.
-
Ordered an M18x on the 12th Oct and showing as shipped today! The estimate was end of this month for the laptop and mid Nov for the backpack and they've both been shipped within 1 week of the order. Impressive!!
-
Did you order Battlefield 3? My accessories including backpack showed mid November also but they sent everything except the game because it was a pre-order. I was afraid they were going to hold the whole accessories order for that one game but luckily they didnt. -
Thanks. I'm really surprised, ETA was dated 27th Oct, so it's made it out the door a lot quicker.
I didn't order Battlefield 3, will probably pick it up at release. -
I ordered mine on the 13th, in production on the 14th - I hope i have your luck. -
Boo! I ordered on the 10th and I'm still in production
-
I had an exchange from an M14x to an M18x - It was put into production on 10/10 and is getting delivered today 10/17
1 week total is pretty quick.
I'm in the USA too. -
Got a tracking email from Dell. I'm in the UK and the M18x is shipping from China. ETA is Thursday.
Good luck to everyone else waiting on theirs going through production. -
Has anybody ever had this experience with fedex. Dell shipped my "Universal Wireless HD Video and Audio Kit" separately from m18x. The system has until oct 28 to get here. But the wireless HD kit had until 3pm today to get here. Dell shipped it next day shipping but no signature required. So although the fedex website says it was delivered at 2:36pm its not at my apt and my wife was home all today, nor was there any missed delivery slip by my mailbox.
I feel they should not ship no signature required. I hope the driver missed his route timing and put delivered, but will deliver tomorrow. Else someone walked away with the package. I'll find out tomorrow.
I certainly hope they dont ship my $3300 system no signature required. Should I call Dell tonight and let them know? Call Fedex? or wait till tomorrow -
I just called fedex, they checked in their system and the driver noted he left package in the leasing office. oh great !!, but he didn't leave a note for me saying as much, and their website just says delivered. How the blank am I suppose to know that? fedex has never done that b4, they always bring package to my apt. Plus ofc the leasing office is closed until tomorrow. And my wife was home all day.
Sry guys just venting, I suppose I could have called fedex @ 3:01pm and I would have found out they delivered to leasing office while it was still open. -
That sucks bud. I hope it gets worked out. Should call and complain as that isn't acceptable in my opinion.
-
Oh and I decided to check the box my M18X came in yesterday and its marked Made in China on it. I know there was discussion about it before.
