I guess they must be back ordered....I hope you get yours on your EDD! Let us know how it works out...As for me, it looks like I may be having to cancel/rework my order as I am finding out that a single GPU, even in the M18x, just isn't worth anything more than serving as a paper weight...I don't think I can really afford going SLI, but then again with the money I have spent so far I don't think I can afford NOT to go dual GPU....sigh..

Just spoke with a rep. My order had been on hold due to an unspecified part but was now ready for installation. At the most my order would be delayed by a day, but more than likely will arrive on time.

I'm almost too wary to get too excited about finally getting my Alienware. I feel like if I let myself get excited they might drop it at the factory and have to start over and take ANOTHER two weeks. Anyone else getting that feeling? :)

One more day. Good god this is torture lol

I am excited too! Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. It doesn't show that it has shipped yet thus far today..... we'll see. Of course, I only live 3 hours from Austin if that is where it comes from, not sure.

Ugh...I live about 3hrs from Austin, so if that is where they are shipping from then I should get mine pretty quickly once it is shipped. I ordered mine on the 2nd, and it STILL shows a ship date of the 17th. I have been so excited I can barely sleep, but as exhaustion takes over I am finding myself a little less excited and more willing to rest.. ;)

My original M17x almost (should've.. Thanks FedEx guy who didn't attempt a delivery twice in a row  ) arrived before the status even changed to "shipped.". Dell tends to be very good about beating estimates, in my experience. I imagine what may have held your order up, if anything, would be the 680s.

Even if it is delayed, you will be just as giddy when it arrives. ;)

Good luck! :) We're still waiting on some 680M SLi benches... ;)

The only problem with that is my original order only has the 660m in it....I can't figure out WHAT could possibly be holding up my order...Like I said..I ordered on the 2nd of July, which I understand means there was a holiday in the total time, but I see people that have ordered AFTER me getting their systems before me....I'm sure it's just someone's way of making me learn a little patience..rofl..

I ordered my m18x with the same specs as robininni(except I have the 256gb SSD) and my status just changed to the 17th which is next Tuesday. It was originally scheduled to be delivered for tomorrow.

Got an email at 3am this morning that said the m18x won't arrive until the 17th now, like others. The arrival date should have been changed days ago, they new it wasn't going out when they first said.

Makes you wonder what kind of problem they are having that is affecting everyone's shipping dates. I would say it is a back order of 680M's, but the model I am getting doesn't have the 680M, I'll be getting that when I cancel my order and have them build the new one.

I finally got a REAL update from Dell today. Apparently my order was in a hold status due to a back ordered part, but as of about an hour ago it was converted to a "Status Complete" condition. They said that it is going to be sent out from Dell to FedEx, and I can expect the system the next business day from the time it reaches FedEx. Depending on what time it was completed today I would think they could get it to FedEx today, but if not then it will be tomorrow and I can expect my system by the 13th at the latest. Not bad, but still longer than I had expected...

Several reps on the phone told me the part back-ordered was the LCD screen when I talked to them earlier last week. Makes sense since it effected almost everyone's ETDs.

You will learn that this happens a lot with Dell sales reps, lol.

It may have been. I know the other day I was playing around with configurations and the website said that there was a delay on 680Ms.

I ordered mine the 6/23 and today, since the order status said "in production" with delivery tomorrow, I decided to call. After a few back and forth and making sure the system will include the correct 330w adapter, the rep told me that the system will be delivered on or before July 23rd. I asked if the delay was due to missing parts in back-orders etc, but he simply replied that they are just behind schedule with assembling all the numerous systems people ordered. He said that they're over their heads and are struggling to keep up. The rep was nice and took the time to check if his info were correct. I guess we just have to be patient. Good things come to those who wait...

Got my order up date 10 min ago, it is suppose to be delivery today.

    Order was on 6/25/2012
    Dear Customer,
We wanted to let you know that there is a delay with one or more items in your order.

Based on the latest available information, we have adjusted your Estimated Delivery Date and your order is now projected to reach you on or before 7/24/2012

We are sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience.

I didn't understand why they let you know on the delivery date that the order will be delay for next two more weeks.

Don't think this is a good service from dell (Alienware) very un professional.

I did talking with one of sell reps who's did not have any clue about power supply that need for dual GPU Nvidia 680 SLI.

I told him that my order for Dual Nvidia 680 SLI come with 240w a/c power supply was and error. He said it is correct that you need only 240w. I try to explaining to this sell reps but he so dumbs and still argue with me that the web site has an error for Dual Nvidia 680 SLI that has an 330w A/C adapter.

Finally I getting annoyed by him, and asking him to connect with the Aleinware Tech support to get some one who has knowledge and common sense.

They will mail the correct power supply if I received 240w when it delivery.

I contacted my sales rep as my order is showing the 240w ac adapter he said that is what it was supposed to ship with so I sent him a configured system with the sli 680's that show the ac adapter is the 330 watt but he hasn't changed my order so I guess we will see how many system ship with the wrong adapter.

Is your order has been delay or on time.

When I talk with tech support he mention that graphic card and dvd was back order.

And for other people who got and the delay on delivery from 10th and 11th to the 17th is still on same date or change to 24th of July.

Hopefully your order Wouldn't delay, wait until the shipping date.

Normally will take about a week from the order day to delivery, from my last order 18x r2 with Amd Xfire. But I did return to order it with Nvidia 680 SLi.

The price to pay for this machine is waiting up to 4 weeks, dell should have all parts (Nvidia 680m) ready before listing for order.

I wonder any one order aliensware with 680m from Dell has received their computer this day.

I originally ordered the m18x amd radeon 7970m in crossfire video cards but had nothing but problems with it from day 1, I worked with the Alienware tech support for a full week which at that time they wanted to replace the video cards and the motherboard so I sent it back and waited until the 680's were available. I got a really good deal with the nVidia 680's so it is worth the wait after the grief with the 1st one.

@Jacktzu and @jabbok - I completely share your pain with the 240/330watt confusion, and despite heroic attempts still haven't got a straight answer (or at least a consistent one) from Dell. Best answer so far was one rep would ship the 330watt'er to me when my status changed to shipping, but alas, that was moved from the 10th to the 17th (and it's still the 17th for those looking).

Best of luck to us all that it comes with the correct power supply, otherwise I can hold no sympathy when users start storming the walls since they were given every opportunity to rectify this problem before systems started shipping...

Any M18's with 680M SLI out there yet? (Seeing as some M17 680Ms seem to be delivering already...) Which power supply y'all get? :)

What's the alternative then? We already have to wait. No point in getting mad. True it's frustrating but it's a delay and we'll eventually get our pcs. Today I got a call from the case manager and assured me I'd get mine the 18th. I ordered it on the 6/23 with a delivery on the 11 and initially postponed to the 7/23.

I was literally calling them one or two times a day to keep the pressure on, and it seems to have worked (although I am half expecting to get a system that has a bunch of problems as their way of saying FU), because my original EDD was the 17th, and it shipped ground home delivery today, and will arrive at my house on the 13th....The only explanation they gave me for the extended wait time was a back order on LCD screens...either way, I'm looking forward to playing with it on Friday...The Customer Service Resolution Specialist I spoke with assured me that he was going to keep up with FedEx and see if they can possibly deliver it first thing Friday morning...I'm crossing my fingers.. :)

Well, I've been calling since the day I ordered back on June 11th and my order just got placed on hold for the SECOND time. So now they've moved up my 'estimated delivery date' to 7/24. So after over a month of waiting I'm STILL waiting.

I understand logically that getting mad won't solve my problem. And I understand that problems will happen. However I am still really angry that they've bungled this up this badly. Stop placing my ing order on hold and ing ship the ing thing already. I don't care who is in line with me or who else is waiting for the part. I don't want excuses or explanations at this point, I just want someone at Dell to step up and Get It Done.

    !

    Message ends.

My fault. Ordered on the 27. That's what I get for posting first thing in the morning. Regardless of the numbers I just really needed to vent I guess. It's tough to find a sympathetic ear when you're spending over three thousand dollars on a laptop. The number still seems unreal to me, doubly so to my friends. At least here others with the same problem understand my feelings lol.

Gotta love free Alienware therapy! Lol

In any case, hopefully my R2 will arrive before they announce the R3.

    ;)

I think that's a safe bet. :) I must say, while I am not really frustrated (because I have so much else going on in my life so waiting on the laptop isn't really top priority), I sure think companies like Dell/Alienware should be more careful about announcing delivery dates. Even if only 'expected' or 'anticipated', pyschologically you can't help but log in to your brain that that is when you will get your item.

I think the fear is telling people, "oh yeah, go ahead and order it, and in a month you'll get it" will cause a loss of orders, however, it's bad business to delay folks. Once is bad, twice, if that should happen, is a super no-no customer service move.
