    I got my return label for my crippled machine, so I excitedly checked the order page to see if my new machine had shipped. Nope, just a big box saying that either my order number has changed or my order has been cancelled. This order was never listed under my account (I just had the order number and it never even had an EDD, which was always sketch) and no order is listed under my account currently. If they try to ship me something else, they are about to go through hell.

    My last one was cancelled. My order status never showed it. I found out a week later by calling them for a status. This one is a reorder and 20 days In Production now.

    False alarm. My rep got back to me and they just created a new order so that the ugly could "expedite" the process. I have the new order number now. They didn't sneakily or accidently change out any parts (I've been through that before). Still no EDD....

    I contacted my case manager today and was told the following:

    Sending this follow up email regarding the status of the order for Alienware 18.
    I am glad to see that the order has been built and the order is awaiting for the ship notification from the vendor.
    Hence once the ship notification is received, tracking number would be assigned to the order and then shipped out.

    Hopefully all of us will be un-boxing in the not so distant future. I am still somewhat expecting this to be false hope, but I guess we will have to wait and see (at least by now we are all masters at waiting on these systems).

    I am over next day shipping and my shipped to location is in TN which is usually about as fast a location as there is. At this point I just want at least one person on this thread to get one in so that they are least confirmed as really existing .

    Mine is 10/23 with one day delivery. So they are accounting for the weekend on yours I suppose. It still shouldn't take that long if they are en route right now.

    Hello everyone, I originally placed my order on aug 21. Order was cancelled due to an error in the system because i added "Windows 8.1 Pro" or so said the rep. I reordered on the 24th with the same edd of 10/5. This order was in pre-production for about 3 weeks. i called on 10/1 to confirm that my order was shipped. Rep told me that even though it shows on website still in production, order has been shipped and would be at my house on 10/5. Checked order status on 10/4 to see that they changed my EDD to 10/20. I called and got in contact with a care specialist after talking to DFS and she told me that my EDD was actually 11/22. I told her my situation and she told me the reason for this was because i chose option 2 and added 980m and the 8.1 pro. I cancelled my order on 10/7 and reordered the 3rd option, AS IS, and was given an EDD of 10/22 with 2 day delivery. Was in pre-production for only 1 hour! I called today and my care specialist and she told me that she would closely monitor my order and contact me once it ships and the estimated ship time would be 12pm CST. I have a friend that ordered the new 15 R2 on 9/12 and received his order on 10/6, two weeks before his EDD. I have another friend who ordered a 17 R3 whose deliver date was supposed to be today, 10/20, but his EDD has now been changed to 10/26. I'm getting really tired of all the lies that ive been told. I don't think their support team knows anything. Also, its amazing how their sales dept is open 24/7 but their order support is only open from 8am cst - 8pm cst. It's like they treat you like a first class citizen when you're ordering but once you buy, they just throw you in the **** bucket. Pretty upset and if this order is delayed ill probably get the MSI 18". I just cant stand the keyboard layout on it.

    Furthermore, i live about 20minutes from Alienware headquarters in Miami. If my order is delayed i will go there and complain to HQ. Maybe it helps.. Probably wont. any ideas?

    P.S. its comforting knowing others are having my same issues but infuriating at the same time that dell sells something they don't even physically have yet

    The excitement has worn off for me after all this waiting for 38 days. If I don't get it this week I will cancel and go with the new Skylake version of the MSI which is the GT80S. I don't care if the processor is BGA. By the time I would upgrade it I will be buying a new laptop anyway. And I actually like the mechanical keyboard on it and the fact that Windows 10 doesn't brick the LCD is good too.

    Great news! However, mine is still "In Production". "Expedite" my ass. I bet now having an order date of 10/19 (cancelled and re-ordered by my rep in order to "expedite") will throw me to the bottom of the queue. I'll check in with my rep. At least this news makes me feel fairly confident I'll have the machine in time for my break and the Arkham Knight re-release (Halloween is Christmas this year?)

    My replacement was ordered on 10/8, then canceled immediately and a new order was placed 10/9. It has been "in production" ever since with no estimate delivery date with next business day shipping. So who knows. My exchange specialist said they're monitoring it, whatever that means.

    The good thing is the laptops are going out now so yours will move along. We have all just been stagnant with no progress at all. Expediting is just something they say to everyone. It's not real. But I'm sure you know that by now lol.

    Don't install windows 10! It is what fried my M18X and many others M18X's and 18's, even some 17's according to some. It's not worth the risk. Atleast not for a good while in my opinion.

    Yup, I will be. My current 18 survived the upgrade fine (then a technician broke it) and my display is still fine. I think it might be because my machine was out of commission for repairs when the bad drivers went out and only got back online when the new drivers were out. Anyway, if I install 10 and it ****s everything over, I can just send it straight back and keep using my old machine while I wait for a replacement for the replacement. I understand not everyone is in such a situation, so I'll be the guinea pig. I've already been assured by Dell in writing multiple times that installing W10 on it won't void my warranty or anything horrible. Like I've said before, if I don't do a clean install now, I probably never will...

    Certainly, will do. My rep just got back to me saying the estimated ship date is 10/25, which doesn't seems right since that is a Sunday. If it really does ship then though, I'd imagine I'll receive it Monday or Tuesday next week. Seems fair, given my original order date is 9/22, after both the orders that have been reported as shipped. I can't ship my old machine back to them until the 31st, so that works out fairly well given the 10 day window.

    If you wait to receive the AW only to want to return it and get a refund to use to purchase the GT80S you might miss the window of opportunity to get the GT80S.

    It will take longer to process the return and receive $ back than it would to cancel now, right?

    I would imagine the GT80S is going to be a limited edition, it is the 29th anniversary model, so be ready with $$$ when they are available for purchase or maybe miss out!

    What is a "29th anniversary" model. I'm assuming it will be sold for more than just one day, so it isn't like a "special birthday model". Seriously, every yearly model could be a "xx aniversary mode". Unless there is something special about 29.
