    Nice!
    Ill get this posted.
and as to non flex...You will lose your over clock, if we are talking about the same thing.
Does this actually work now? It never worked before.
Dont run hwinfo and and use cstates and your temps will drop.
It's sort of up in the air at the moment. I may just let it ride as a balance to vantage.
No worries on the scoring, your all right. Not getting to serious till after xmas
You need to up the memory clocks a bit at those lower clocks.. :)

Forgive my n00bness, but what exactly does the 'Flex VID' setting actually adjust?

OK Cool. so given that my CPU is already running as hot as I dare to let it, I want to try to aim to reach the highest clock possible with the Flex VID set to a level that produces acceptable temps.

    Thanks :)

Last question for now. Are you guys finding a large difference (in ambient conditions, not refrigerated) between the shipped thermal compound and re-pasting with high quality thermal compounds? I'm considering lapping my heat-sink and re-pasting with some AS5 when my new system arrives. Not really so much for the purpose of chasing higher numbers, but to try and keep the temps down, and therefore the fan speeds under normal use conditions.

It pisses me off when my CPU fan spins up to 75% just because I have iTunes open. lol.

Waiting on replacement gpus to come in mine died... Any day now then I'll get my previous benches posted and rebench them. Nice John on the 52x multi... 51x worked for me so ill have to retry 52x when system is back together. No 5ghz takers other than John and I?

Unhappily replacing 6970s the 580s too much direct parts. If gpus have similar issues in not taking 6970s again. I see 36 CPU points im looking to put my name on and more to work on after. So where in 70's flex were you able to stop for 5.205 GHz? 72-73 I was using in super pi runs in dual core but not sure if you'd need more just getting a cpuz validation

Yeah, can't no one read that. And you need to fix your tessellation.
I would have switched if given the opportunity.

i was running at 5.2 ghz on two cores like it was nothing. Flat on the desk and nothing fancy going on. Running programs. I was a bit surprised to be honest. Coming from a 4.8 ghz max chip to this one. About 5.224 ghz max. Im guessing it was 70. I only do round numbers for the most part.

First run, I haven't done any tweaks yet or even formatted my drive (still using the old install that had ATi software). Getting a feel for these nvidia cards so I'm hoping to get the GPU score close to 28-29k.

    Looking good brother Joker.

    Ok, Got it.

    Nice run there Reborn2003

    Side note:
Im thinking of adding one more level. Non extreme cpu with 3d benching.

Interesting that's how my CPU was handling too but with only being on desk... About 5090 was my limit. I'll have to play more when I have system again... its going to depot... The replacement Gpus didn't fix it. Its suffering from 8 beeps whenever the discrete cards are in the system. By the end of this I'll be sure to bring up every time it overheats so if I do hear 580 I'll be jumping on it but as it stand they want $2600 for direct purchase. As is system doesn't boot unless no discrete cards. Hopefully its back soon. And if there is any issues on system I'll be calling right back. I think they are clueless.

Joker nice runs there I see you are just getting started.

So John 5.2~ dual core no hyper threading. Same limits for me that worked for single core worked in dual too. So any new breaks in 8thread? Wprime 32m 4.925~ and "Intel processor identification utility" I got 100% 8thread @ 5ghz but.... Under higher load it dropped to the 4.925~ so any break through in those ranges. 5.24ghz is an amazing accomplishment congrats. For me the 71-73 flex may have been unnecessary than. Perhaps I was using a watt or amp level unnecessarily... can't wait to try a few things out again... But I've got quite a wait now. This sucks.

My wprime is down to 5.02 seconds and 70 flex was more than likely to much then.

I can run windows at 4.9 ghz 8 threads with no problems, but im suspecting that my slave gpu has issues. *facepalm*

Interesting so same results for running windows... 4.9 all cores no prob. Which was same here... Hmmm 4.9 not needing near as much voltage as those 5ghz runs... Yes these are so amazing that they can run all day on 2 cores no HT at such high speeds no sweat...

That sucks think that slave gpu is limiting your clocks?

Nice scores Mr. Fox looking good.
Wow 4.933 is sweet.. Nice job John you might be noticing what I am when shooting for high clocks sometimes the lower baseclock is better such as.... 5100mhz by 51x @100... Rather than 50x @102... Anyway nice progress on stock paste that says how good that paste is... Not bad seems right up there with all the best thermal material.

So that's two CPUs thus far with 5ghz stock paste my 2920xm oem and your 2960xm oem...

There can't be only our oems and your last ES as the only 5ghz chips... Step up men and women show us what you got if you dare push your CPUs... hey even some other 4.9ers would be cool. Bench on!

I can't remember to be honest... My pics are on my drives which are pulled out till my laptop is sent and received don't need to lose my stuff... No probably didn't get lower maybe closer to 5.06~. I plan to hone those scores in when it's back I'll make sure to let ya know... For a bit I was working to try to get a 4.9 8thread over lock and 5.0+ as I went from 4thread down... could prove to be very efficient in every day tasks. So either way congrats 5.02secs is nice

Lmfao it would've been great though if it was true. If it was possible id give up my GT core as a additional one lol that would be interesting if there were gt/processing cores that ran in whichever mode would be best benefit... Dynamically assigning cores... Crap another rant I did it again.

What was the top speed you hit on your es ? 4.8 ????

Was it on 8 cores ?

I need some pointers to hit the next step. don't know if I should go to 44x and start playing with flex or 45x and start.

    45x / 105.10 Bclk

best to start with 45x 0 flex and run a test.
    it crashes.
    Up flex to 5
    crashes
    Another 5.

Vantage takes more voltage than wprime 1.55

And 3dmark11 takes more than Vantage finally prime95/linX is the most. Where you should "add another 5 flex" test but then by 15 flex only add 1 at a time you won't need a lot. 21 was a point I remember hitting with 4.8.... But if cool perhaps 18 is enough. No access to pics but I got one showing 205watts in hwinfo for total core power and this was on discrete graphics so IGP didn't raise the watts more than 1-2.... This was from 8 thread 4.7~ in IBT interesting right.... Seems at the ranges we have been we could have gone over this....

Im thinking those are spikes and not a constant power draw from the cpu. No way a mobile cpu is going to draw more than a desktop one. And these XM's max at just about 130W

Yes I know it was a spike it was definitely peak before I stopped the run.... But it still is noteworthy that they can have peak draw power of that much. 130watt about for constant draw right? Might be interesting to note your peak on wprime type load 32m 8thread... Your 4.933 must be peaking high too.

cool nice one John yeah as long as i didnt have amps and watts triple what you are using... i am able to boot that and use it in daily use too just its gonna drop to your 4.933 on 8thread like before if you do one of those wprime runs...

hey here is that pic i assure you its mah M18x... just didnt have cpuz etc going... this was as said after a 4.7ghz IBT with like 300amp 300 watt just to ensure the cpu wouldn't drop because of lack of power... it must of ran for no more than 3 secs in this scenario... but 4.7ghz in IBT with 4096mb usage of ram 8thread is nearly unheard of on mobile... most drop well under 4ghz under IBT...

    :D :D

And asking that in a benching thread at that... :D :D

:D it is true if you are referring to those watts... and see the temps really it was for 1-3 secs max... try it just set a huge amp and watt beyond anything you've needed ill get you pick of it with cpuz and throttle stop at same time.... just cant now... maybe tommorow if depot box isnt here ill do a run on igp but not likely since id have to reassemble before sending out and just tired of doing that as of late...
just check those temps like I said... the cpu of yours can do it too you decide the flex but try 300 amp and 300 watt via Throttle stop... only way to set 300 other than that bios flashing mod....

nothing i can post them for you when i can. you dont need to waste your time honestly... but it is interesting that given enough amps and watts the cpu will run at whatever your goal speed was. i only did it to see if possible and what the cpu pulls.... at 0flex i can run about 4ghz with a lower watt and amp... so i guess the only thing that could come from it is one could take note of the limits it shows... so if there was enough voltage im sure we could do that 5.6ghz vantage... but it would shutdown from temps in a sec... so as you said not much to be determined from this... ill post those eventually just for reference though.... like you said this is a bench thread... just isnt really important like the other benching we've done...

i do remember small hype on people attempting to get that 4ghz runs in prime95... not sure why at first that was a goal but it was... so you could say that peaked my interest and this is what had come from it... so IBT 8T 4.7ghz is possible im sure prime95 is about same....

But with all that, it would not let you post above 5.1 ghz?
Is what i was getting at. i have set it to 99 flex/8192 plane. it still will not budge above 5.224 ghz. :D

Hahaha, Johnksss, thought you would get a kick out of this, I was using team viewer on my M17x to get into my Inspiron 1720, than wen into team viewer of my 1720, back into my M17x R2, and it went crazy, like holding two mirrors to each other hahahah. It was my entertainment. Gotta update my team viewer and then do it from the R2>1720>M11x>R2 lol.
