Late night is when I do all of my best work.... ;)

Would putting on the DICE while in the chest freezer make the DICE last longer? haha

Thx! they do look good considering it's stock paste/cooling. I'm amazed at how cool the 580M run! Hopefully I can get more juice in them to push them a bit higher.

Hey man, you'd better run 3dmark11 with CPU&GPU OC and add it to your signature :)

I never said world record in my sig...I just let the numbers speak for themselves :D

And John, I will be gunning for you once I got some DICE on hand. May have to wait until after next week. Have to prepare a 1 hour technical presentation for step 5 of 6 in an interview process. So far they like me!

As a teaser then.....I did 29k in 06 quick (needs more tweaking) and P27847 in Vantage. Only at P8291 in 11 though, need to get my GPU clocks higher for sure. Then I have to start looking at inf tweaks, because I know John is doing them :p

I also need to get my bclk and ram tweaked.

And John, I am pretty sure I dropped the "world record" from my sig a while ago (like Oct. 2009 when the 4870s came out). I let the numbers speak for themselves :D

I technically still have the fastest Core 2 based notebook scores in the world.....

this is the first time you have seen it in my sig. and it's for joking purposes only.(now i will post it in a post though..haha)
no tweaks just flat out speed and ccc
    no inf tweaks either
and everything still running like a regular os.

I don't know if that should make me more comfortable or not then haha......decent gap between us (for now!). I only did one run of each last night. I still need to crank out the runs to get a high scoring one. Hopefully I am closer than I think :)

    Benching is fun :D

what is your max over clock on gpu?
for starters...your using the wrong version of vantage.

and your cpu scores are damn decent...this is where im starting to see and understand what the difference is between the es and the oem.

    side note:
not sure what your talking about! but for a first decent run..you took the second highest gpu score.

All this world record talk :p Makes me relish in the fact that...I still beat you with gen oone core-i in 1024, the one that counts! :p haha, j/k, or not. That run was the staple of my benching. But it's not long till you beat that. And that run was 4GHz on all cores.

Scook, you should hold a benching party, I'll bring the dice cup! Than you can take down John. Dice is fun in a cup full of acetone. Just straight cup to Die. Though without being able to adjust TDP, I'm not sure if the effort would yield enough gain. Though in benching the bottom line is gain=gain. Score boad baby.

John, what is different on the Vantage versions? I did have to update my 06, couldn't upload scores haha

And ya....I was pleased with my CPU performance :D Still need to get my video cards in shape though. I could not finish 11 at 855 core. 850 will finish at least some time (I have done all of 2 runs successfully at 850 core but have not devoted much time at all to benching yet)

i was surprised that it even took your vantage.

and this stuff is a crap shoot. ill get where runs will run fine...then next...lower clocks wont pass.

i just take it as is and keep moving.

Yep, these are not consistent benches at all. Not like the CPU benches that are freakishly consistent. That is where benching gets frustrating, run a bench several dozen times just to get a "high" score. Never mind all the restarts after a crash in between runs.....

Hey guys just installed 11.8 and OC'd the 2630 a little bit, some interesting results. A nice little jump in Vantage ... you can also see a GPU boost, not sure if this just because of the jump in CPU speed. BUT, I had read that with the 2630 the way the clocks are set in the Bios somehow slightly downclocks the GPUs as well so maybe this fixed it ...

Going to do serious benching tonight or tomorrow and see the results, hoping to break the 9K GPU score in 3d mark 11.

    Scores: Stock > Overclocked
    Vantage score 20686 > 21105 (nice 500 point jump)
    GPU score 21991 > 22392 (400 point jump)
    CPU Score 17560 > 18001 (441 point jump)

    here are the pics ...

Ya I still need to learn a lot about overclocking this platform (have not done much overclocking since Core 2 Quads haha)

I assume you are not bothering with vbios flashing at all? Just using Software (Trixx?)

just trixx. since we have no voltage control and vbios isn't really needed...plus changing on the fly allows for more to get done.
