Do most overclockers overclock their RAM? I was reading about it and it seems fairly easy.

Not all cards overclock the same, this time I may have gotten the short straw.

yes they do, on desktops its definitely a popular item. overclocking the m18x automatically overclocks the ram :). the ram multiplier on the m18x might need to bios re-coding but apart from that no problems!

    [IMG] [IMG]

ive passed my previous 3dmark11 score by only 10 pts.

Haha - I did think that 30k was possible with these beasts with OC.....my stock was about 25k so with OC, bound to push 30k I thought!

Amazing figures...even though 3dmark 06 is an oldie as a benchie its still a goodie lololol ;)

And bloody hell GreaseMonkey!!!......cpu clock of 4400ghz+........your gonna burn that thing right outta the bottom of your lappy! lol

actually, i OC'ed it to the max to 4.8GHz yesterday. i used some external cooling and some pure cold air from mother nature. i placed my laptop outside with the cryo lx. outside temps was around 6'c.

and now i have downclocked it back to factory OC 4ghz.

Hey guys, I haven't gotten anywhere yet with benching or OCs. My system came with a bad keyboard, a number of keys jam. Dell is doing a return. I don't know if I will wait a couple of weeks to see what June brings? The 560 doesn't interest me though.

i did it before with my m17x r1. it was -18'c outside. took out the battery and begin benchmarking, my QX9300 had the lowest temp I've ever seen on a system. it was 3c, 4c, 2c, 4c. my 280s was 24c and 28c

Ya the trick is just to not let it get TOO cold as I learned. Also have to be careful of condensation when you go back inside after benching

When I am done with the cold benching, I take out battery and AC so the system has NO power source. I then leave it open and on its side to "defrost" for about 6 hours before powering it up (so long because humidity freezes into a frost all over the laptop that is pretty scary haha)

I am skittish because I killed my first SSD this way

I will be testing how hard I can push my 2920xm once I get the new thermal paste in and re-paste it. I am hoping to see 5 GHz in a laptop!

This is also my 10,000th post :D I have the 18th most posts on this forum apparently! (that is a benchmark right?)

My girlfriend was even excited for me lol

    TRIXX locks mine.

The 4th test in 3D Mark Vantage crashes. However it worked a few days ago before I started tweaking. [IMG]

This is what I get for trying to bump my benches. It still games just fine so I'm not too worried but I still want to try it again this weekend when more time is available. :)

technically your score is 8103 in 3D Mark 11 nobody cares about overall score
As lately we relied on GPU score to measure vantage performance :)

This is a beast! I will get the screenshot up tonight forgot to upload it last night

I am redoing a clean Windows 7 install and need to confirm the installation procedure for the video driver(s). I am following Batboy's driver installation, but wonder if I can install the AMD 11.5b driver, instead of the Dell driver, at the same point in Batboy's list? And should I then install the Cap2 patch immediately after the AMD driver? Then continue on as outlined by Batboy?
