The thought just occurred to me that I could do a minor variation of what Nospheratu did [ LINK] instead of modifying the dual adapter converter box. That would allow me to share the Clevo AC adapters with the Alienware 18 and M18xR2. All I would need to do is use a female connection for the Clevo on the receiving end and the Alienware connection on the output end of the dongle.
If I end up buying a P570MW at some point, that might be nice to have if for no reason other than convenience. It could be used with just one adapter, or two with the converter box.

i think 8gb or 16gb there no difference in performance but from 1600cl11 to 1866cl10 there must be a difference

You will find it ignores PrimoCache as well

Decided to bench something different, so I benchmarked screen recording performance. I was surprised that Afterburner has stepped up their game on game capture... pun intended. So, buh-bye GeForce Experience... don't need you any more ShadowPlay. Video editing will take longer due to the need for transcoding, but the hit on performance is reduced dramatically, so it will make it worth the extra time on the back end.
Captured with Afterburner...

What were the Fire Strike and Sky Diver scores with Windows 7? What happened with the Physics score? Did you do before and after comparisons with 3DMark11 and 3DMark Vantage?

Long live the M18xR2 Beast!
Doesn't it just suck when newer is not better?

Even if I only have a tiny little Alienware 17 laptop , I have tested PassMark for the first time. I have unfortunately only one GPU without a mod vbios, but the total score of 5440 p I think is ok

I cannot upload this because it is within 5% of my previous baseline... I really hate that about PassMark.
You should be at least able to override your previous score, or delete the previous one and replace it.
At any rate, for the moment I placed second in 4xCPU behind a 4790K @ 5.0GHz, so not too shabby.

Is it the two graphics cards and mod vbios that draw up the results? I see that you have 11907p on your cpu, while mine has 11448p = 4% in favor of you
Mod VBIOS certainly plays a role, I think. I have to wait and mod the VBIOS until I invests in a more powerful power supply. Is there any difference in scores between win7og Win8 in this benchmark test? What do you think otherwise about my score?

What hardware is there, which increases RESULTS (score) in this testMr. Fox likes this. -
Well, HWBOT classifies it as a CPU test. Without a strong CPU the overall score will be low. For example, a system with a top end AMD CPU overclocked like crazy still has a low overall score even if it has a beast GPU. But, each category has its own score so you can compare that way also. I selected the hardware in my baseline to provide a 3D graphics comparison. You can see that in my screen shot. I sorted them in ascending order. Having SLI does not make a gigantic difference because the 3D tests play a very small part in the calculation. I have to manually set AFR2 for the DX11 test or it only runs on one GPU and in the rest of the other graphics tests only one GPU is used. Setting AFR2 doesn't help in anything except the 3D DX11 test. Memory speed and disk read/write performance also go into the calculations. A slow HDD will have an impact on the overall score. The trouble with trying to compare hardware in their database in the configurations are all over the board. You have to look at clock speeds when setting a baseline because you can have two identical CPUs... one with a great score and a wild overclock and another running stock with a lousy-looking score.

I don't know... haven't checked. Probably about the same. In most things they run neck-and-neck until the 330W AC adapter reaches its limit then the M18xR2 leaves it behind.

well heres one for the wall when it gets updated.. and heres the web link! EDIT: http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/5110516

Just thought I'd post up a Work in Progress - nothing worth leader board attention yet. Never really given Vantage much love. It's a different beast to 3D Mark 11 so I've still gotta work out the sweet spots with my GPU overclock. This was on stock voltage and I didn't get them to boogie yet on higher clocks/volts.

BallBench - Physics Based Benchmark

edit: I did a second run with a mild OC @ +110/330 and my machine abruptly shut off. I'm a little scared to use it more since it was only using a single GPU with CPU.
It's a very nice benchmark though.Mr. Fox likes this. -
I wonder why your system shut off? I ran it with a much higher overclock and a single AC adapter.
-
I don't know why either. I heard a faint circuitry buzzing noise from the GPU or left side of the KB that I only usually hear when I'm doing extreme overclocks with 3D Mark 11 (usually that's only only a single GPU for my 1 PSU), then power of as if I'd gobbled up all the power. It scared me off
Shame I really like the benchmark but not sure if its wise I go again. -
I know that buzzing sound you're talking about, I hear it in my Clevo and it comes from my master GPU only when I run synthetics (never gaming).
Oddly my desktop also gives this buzz that seems to originate from around the CPU socket area when I do an XTU bench.TBoneSan likes this. -
Yep same, not in gaming and only under extreme conditions OCing in synthetic benchmarks (eg 1.1v) . Hence why I'm a little apprehensive beta testing the benchmark when I'm hearing that sound at standard clocks.

if I have it dialed at 4.3GHz my idle temps are between 45 - 55 with Liquid Ultra.
For 4.7 I used 55 flex and 1200 pri plane. But this was just a i-guess-setting for a quick wprime test, so nothing i have been meesing around for a long time haha -
-
I have my system boot to desktop at 4.6 them usually run 4.3 after that by toggling with Throttlestop since I rarely need 4.6. Temps are fine at pretty much the same at idle using 4.3 - 4.6. Only really under big load do I see a real temp difference.
