This is a very nice find. This gives me an idea. Anyone remember the Sourninja Dual Wield that never came out? Well pair this thing with the EXP GDC beast (m.2 version) and you'll get pretty much full performance from an eGPU since you have more pcie lanes with the m.2 slot (4 lanes I believe) than when running the eGPU over an mpcie slot (1-2 lanes). I remember someone doing that with a Clevo laptop and the eGPU setup was I think 95% of what you'd normally get by sticking the card in a desktop.

Why aren't there multiple m.2 slots on that card? Isn't the MXM slot a 16 lane pcie slot? It seems that card isn't utilizing all the lanes it can.

    Supported read/write: 3100/1400

    Result from pic: 1750/1450.

The card he has is running modified firmware, he's getting 3286/3045 from a supported 3500/3300 970 Evo Plus. He also has rev 8.0 vs rev 5.0 from listing

    @ Baddemichl

Please , can you be so kind and let me in on this intel, how did you or where did you get this MXM NVME Adapter? I'd like to buy at least 1, perhaps 4 in total... I've sent you a private message , hope to hear back from you... Thanks

I'd like one too but last time we checked shipping was expensive. Maybe now it has gotten better, last we talked about it was June.

Id still take a chance i believe very much... I would probably end up getting four pieces to justify expensive shipping, and then shelf them all for 2-4 months until enforced holiday season arrives and then only then do I go and try playing with one of them on my main machine... :D but it would all be so so worth it :)

That's still amazing. Now we just need the Turing GeForce cards to be released in standard MXM form factor.

The processor greatly restricts the card, RTX5000 should show in tests approximately as RTX2080.

Sorry...new to this but I know this site is for AW but I installed (2)980 Desktop in my Sager P570wm and It boots up and but I can't install Nvidia drivers to the laptop to recognized the cards but they show up when I run GPUZ it...….shows 2048 shaders and that's it. I have tried loading every Nvidia drivers but it always says that it can't install drivers cause no device was found and not supported on this Windows?. any advice to make these cards work would be appreciated. These cards have 4-pin connectors but in other post I have read, they are not required to run the cards...I don't know if that is true or not and if I'm wasting my time trying to mod my laptop to make them work.............thanks

You need to mod the .inf files.

You'd be better off posting this in the Sager/Clevo forum but yes, you will need to mod the .inf in the Nvidia Driver to make them work. If they are detected in the BIOS and show up as Basic Display Adapters in Device Manager then the driver mod should be all you need.

Was this particular Clevo ever released with these GPU’s? If it wasn’t then it may not have native driver support. That is why a driver mod may be required. What does it show in the device manager under display adapters?

The map works without overheating, the maximum temperature is 79 degrees, games do not crash. You can overclock the chip to +210 and the memory to + 600-700, but it is unstable, while the result in the Fire strike graphics score is about 22000, this is clearly faster than the gtx 1070 and P5200, about the level of RTX 5000.

No, it will not work, the location of the chip in another place, you need to make a separate radiator for these cards.

    Hello guys,
I am after a bios for the Zotac GTX 1080... MSI one or the one with code 86.04.80.00.43

I have tried more than 20 now (VGA bios collection), but they either don't work at all or have different issues (do not work on internal screen, etc.). The Zotac bios does not work on internal screen and sometimes power limits the card at 60Watts .. I have unlocked it up to 200 and it benches good, for example Firestrike 21 000 Graphics score, with no artifacts or issues. MSI bios ... for example works on internal screen, but after drivers install I get artifacts...

Hi guys, how are you? Does anyone know which is the best GPU to date for my M18x R2, that is, the most powerful with less problems, I don't care about forcing drivers or specific settings in the bios, only gpu that don't accelerate.

Unfortunately with the 10 series or later we have to deal with Optimus which makes things slightly annoying but it's not a deal breaker. The Quadro RTX 5000 seems to be the best card that has been tested and proven to work but the 1070 is the more common upgrade, probably due to the cost.
A single 980M in PEG will work pretty well and is the cheapest option. Just try to stay away from Chinese sellers as they seem to be poor quality.

Unfortunately yes, the 10xx cards only run on Optimus in the R2. That is due to the fact that the screen is connected through LVDS and not eDP, as far as I am able to recall.

another nice option although not the most powerful is a quadro p4000. been working on a restoration project and have installed one of those in mine, was plug and play (very simple driver mod). works perfectly fine in legacy mode too, ill be doing a thread on it at some point once the last part arrives. Also tried out cyberpunk on it just to see what it was capable of and did some footage of it

Hello, it should be relatively easy. What do you mean by install "start but stop"? Is this the driver installation? You will need a modded driver to run anything higher than a 580M.

Ok i find the solution where it was failing, i just needed to deactivate the windows digital signature for install, then with the .INF modified and the right modded driver, it's all clean, unbelievable that this 11 years old computer is still working like day one.

    thank anyways :)
