Hey NBR,
I got a new job working from home and so what best to do with the flexible hours then to pull out my old alienware area 51m 766SN3 and see if I can restore it.
I am currently attempting to gut the laptop of all of its components so I can look into the possibility of updating it with all new components. But first in order to even reach that stage I have to get past my current obstacle...
From what I can see I have reached the point in my dis-assembly process where the LCD needs to come off to gain access to the mobo and remove it.
Here are some pics I took with my phone of the LCD monitor from every angle I could think of o help you see what I see. I might take a video and put it on youtube in case these photos don't prove helpful.

Here you can see that after I removed all the screws around the LCD monitor i can pry it open on this one side. However there is a lot of pressure and I fear that I may crack the casing.

If any of you have some advice or ideas on how to conquer this annoying little hiccup in my restoration project I would greatly appreciate it. I will be making another thread asking about the obstacles I will come in contact with when trying to put all new computer components in a custom laptop case made for only one chipset.

solved my own problem. Just took a little force to budge it open. Case closed.
