After almost 2 years with this system, I've been through every single problem imaginable.
Now, randomly, the power button acts like it's charging the battery when the battery isn't even plugged into it! It was originally the light green color, and I noticed that it was going straight to white, then slowly back to green, repeat. Then I was experimenting and now have it on the light blue and it goes from the blue straight to white, slowly to the green I had before, then straight to blue. The whole thing flashes about 5 times per second as this happens. Very very distracting as it is right below the screen...
Rebooting AlienFX doesn't do anything, rebooting the computer does nothing, and right now, I don't have time or patience to be trying to figure out how to fix it.
*sigh* With all the problems I've had with this computer, I would never ever recommend it to anyone nor buy it again.
On a side note, my hinge broke AGAIN but I'm out of the warranty date... anyone think that I can get it fixed again even without the warranty?
Thanks!

Oh, thanks for that link, I'll look into that and see if there are others for a little cheaper as I am a cheap college student.
Still working on the other issue though! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Been sitting here doing my homework and the changing of the colors and flashing is distracting. -
This is reinforced, if you buy any other you're potentially going to run into the same problem sooner or later

Yeah, seems like the best deal is them. If I really want this computer live for at least 1 more year, I guess it isn't that bad then.
Update on the power button: I just noticed the it's not just the power button doing this, the Alienware head on the lid is also changing color the same way, except it's not flashing like the button is. I think that is supposed to happen, as in, they are supposed to always have the same color scheme type of thing going on. Any who, I tried putting the battery in, then taking it out again, I tried shutting my laptop and then holding the power button for a bit, then rebooting only to find that it's till happening.
Again, this isn't a problem that will make my computer unusable, but it's still very obnoxious to be playing a game or sitting here doing homework and having the power button do this. My peripheral vision catches it and it's quite annoying.
Thanks for just reading this! -
This is way off topic, but darkloki: do you have the vbios from the 9800m GT in your m15x handy? I have a borked one that I would like to narrow down to physical failure.

umm yea let me get to work on this for you, currently the laptop is on load to my brother about 35 miles south of me. At first he didn't like the system now he loves it, lol.

Any updates from your brother darkloki?
