I ordered a notebook off ebay (specifically an Alienware Aurora M9700) and it will not turn on. When the power button is pressed the wireless adapter and the mouse light both light up, the caps lock and number lock button flash and become toggle-able and the Alien head on the back of the notebook also lights up. however the screen stays black during the entire process. I hear and see the fans spinning, and tried different ram as well to no avail. I also tried to reset the c Mos battery with the 30 second power button hold, with no luck. I'm at my limit, and have no clue how to fix this laptop, can someone PLEASE help me before i have to send this beautiful laptop back (which is my last resort).

I'd try an external monitor and see what happens

Try removing the ram and trying with one stick at a time?

If that doesn't work might be bad motherboard or videocard, which in either case I'd send it back and spend your money on another M9700 on ebay.
