Did you tried plugging external screen? It also can be dead LCD or LVDS.

Im not an expert with old Alienwares but don't slave/master cards have different vBIOSes?

That depends on how BIOS is made. You can always try.

LVDS is internal display cable that connects GPU to display inside the laptop. Something like DVI/HDMI but internal.

Im not sure but older SLI laptops had Master/Slave card for a purpose. I think they had different vBIOS on master/slave and thus cannot be swapped but I think even if they got swapped they should at least put something on the display.

You should try an external monitor first.

Could also be a bad LCD inverter. Hold a light source to the screen and check for image. If you can see a faint image, then the inverter for the backlight is gone. Should be a cheap and easy replacement.

Could also be a damaged cable like suggested before.

MAster / Slave VBIOS should be diff. Try with only the master in. Also try an external monitor.
