Okay so I got this Alienware m5500i-r3 system a few months back and am very interested in upgrading the go7600 graphics card inside. I have read so much but cannot find a clear answer to any of my queries so I am turning to this loving kind community for help.

    1) Is the m5500i-r3 a m5550?

    2) I have a 8600m GS (MXM II) graphics card, do I need to change the bios of the graphics card to get it to work with my system?

    3) My laptop has the 2.07 bios and I understand I need to downgrade. Can some one please provide me with the 2.06 bios file and point me in the right direction of how to downgrade my bios. (I have the m5550 2.06 bios file will that do?)

Thank you all. Hopefully once these questions are answered I can create a full post with instructions that everyone can use as a reference.

Okay Ive worked out that a dual core m5500i-r3 is indeed been named a m5550 in future releases.

My next question is I need to downgrade my bios from 2.07 to 2.06w. Can anyone provide a guide or a link to that can show me how to downgrade. Thanks
