    I was going through the Alienware bag and found these... the backsides are scratched, anyway to repair the scratches?

    You might be able to use one of those dvd repair kits that remove surface scratches from movie discs - same principal. Something like this: CD scratch repair kit: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

    What machine do you have? - most new Aliens ship without recovery media these days as it's up to the user to create media when they first get their machine.

    Yes, you can use any Windows Disc that matches the version you purchased the system with but the respawn would do all the work for you. I think that what Stevie says would be the best way to go.
