Issue at hand. 2 attempts at reformatting for windows 7 64 bit, applying the drivers in what is portrayed to be the correct order, and downloading an older version of command center. I cannot get the keyboard lights to light up at all! There is no option! anywhere!
I have searched forums for weeks! digging into the darkest ditches on the internet downloading fixes and opening what feels like a million dead or broken or expired links! All to get the keyboard on my laptop to light up!, I have no problem reformatting but I need a detailed explanation to be spoon fed to me *and links to the correct programs required*
    Thank you!

    Item description AREA-51 M15X
The computer in total costed 2,964.97$ *when it was bought* It has not been used since up until last week when I reformatted for w7 46 bit and started scowering the internet for the proper drives ect. The command center I came across does not even have an option for the keyboard, Yes I did the fix patch *the registry one* Yes I tried to create a new theme, I am fairly certain I downloaded drives in the correct order *not certain* I am currently doing windows updates also although not sure if that will help.

Got the keyboard to lightup!~ thanks for all the replies helping! *oh wait there was none*, that aside a new issue has risen. Hopefully my post helps anyone as I can answer questions. The new issue is, running windows 7 64 bit, the Bios and computer device manager does not show my Nvidia 9800 gt2, I cannot update drivers for it as the nvidia website and the countles atempted downloads all say that their is no hardware on my computer. I am currently looking for a bios update that gives me an option to change video cards *hoping that is the problem at hand* and no fn+f7 does not do anything for me.

It was a Holiday weekend in the US man, most were probably out enjoying the nice weather. Glad you got it working. I know for a fact that my M15x dropbox driver/software package links are still good and can be found via search. It has everything needed to get the keyboard lights working. If I remember right I didn't have to do anything special with either install order or registry edits. I just had to to create and apply a new light theme and they came right on.

As far as your videocard goes what driver version are you running? Well known is the fact that after a specific version you can no longer update or you will get a BSOD or other issues. Most with that laptop have switched to the 3870m which you can update drivers for and is know to be much more reliable.

Actually it is currently running off of the intel integrated graphics card, the system acts as if the Nividia doesn't exist. The nvidia website cannot scan it, I cannot get it to run off of the Nvidia. The only reason I know it is in there is the specs.

I don't think you will see the card in the Device Manager unless it's switch to it. But you are saying there is a spot in the BIOS where you should see it? I haven't been around a M15x for a couple years so I can't remember what the BIOS looks like.

What driver version are you trying to install? As I said there is a specific version you HAVE to use on the m15x.

The bios does not show a video graphics driver at all, So I am under the assumption a bios update is lurking somewhere. Also I have tried MANY versions, from the latest down to 176. As I said before I cannot switch cards at all. And every driver I try to update is given with a nifty little erorr *The download cannot continue because Nvidia cannot find any hardware that is supported by blah blah blah* extremely frustrating as I know the computer is slightly dated but is capable of running games such as league of legends *IF* I can get the graphics card to run

Are you sure the card isn't dead? The nvidia cards are WELL known to go in the m15x. Many have switched to the ATI 3870m. I don't think a BIOS update will help at all and not sure what you mean by the BIOS doesn't show a driver. A BIOS has nothing to do with Windows drivers, it's at a lower level. I didn't know if in the M15x's bios there was a spot where video cards are listed though most BIOS' I have seen, unless the card is onboard (which it is not), they will not list them.

My guess is either the card is dead or if the card is good something is wrong with the way you are installing the drivers.

I think 186.91 is the version you NEED to use on your m15x. Don't use any Nvidia auto-detect tools like it sounds you may be doing. Download the .exe manually and run it. I think this is the link you need. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_186.18_whql.html . Again this is assuming the card is not dead.

I need a windows 7 64 bit download, I will try that and see if it works. If you can supply a link that would be very much appreciated. :)

I did, and same with your download, *no device supported detected* I fear that the video card may be dead. This laptop has not been used in roughly 3-4 years and the card was fully functional to my knowledge during last use. When I got it a few weeks uago I took off windows 7 32 bit and installed windows 7 64 bit. And now the problem is at stands, when I am back home I am going to take off the casing and determine if perhaps I just need to buy a different card.

I would grab a cheap master 3870m and go from there.
