    Hello All,

I have just purchased an Alienware m11x and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival... I currently also own an older Alienware m7700 workstation laptop with the Quadro FX 1400 go graphics card in it, but the motherboard has overheating issues - it is one of those sordid Clevo D900T motherboards, and this is the 3rd time in 5 years that the motherboard has overheated... The first two times the motherboard actually fried and nothing would work, but this time it appears as if the heatsink has just come a bit loose, because if I press down firmly (and I mean FIRMLY) on the area just above and to the left of the mouse pad, then the laptop works fine. As soon as I remove the pressure, it shuts off - so I am guessing a Northbridge / Southbridge / Mosfet heating issue... so, my question is:

Are there any motherboards, other than those made by Clevo, that will fit this laptop? I am even willing to "pimp" the laptop and build it into a peli-case for on-set 3D modelling, but don't want to waste the use of the Quadro GPU, or the brand new LCD...

    -or-

is there a way I can get the display to work with a desktop motherboard?

    -or-

does anybody want to buy this laptop for spares and repairs?

Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

    Cheers,

    Lordcalder
