Hi There i, i was looking up on this forum a while ago because i needed drivers for my m15x.

I dont know if i can post it here? if so sorry mod's

The thing is my laptop was on sale on gumtree, short version i got scammed
and stupid enough sended my laptop to Leichester with a fake pending payment.
Got fake payments on paypal/mail fell for it.
Anyway the theft is reported on gumtree / ebay / paypall / police UK

I just want to put in the forum to be aware of someone that is selling the laptop
and maybe that one of you will bump in to the same laptop.

    Specs.
Mint / clean condition, just a wee scratch under the screen ( under so its not on the lcd panel but under the hinges or what they call it )

    Standard UK charger
    1 slot loading battery
    1 extended battery
    and standard battery on it
It had the original box + a leather laptop bag with it.

No special name plate under, no stickers under ( just the one of alienware )

    Windows 7 64bit / Clean windows / comp name was Alienware m15x
    2.2 core 2duo
    4gb ram
600 +- gb hdd WD *white label with blue text*
    8800m gtx
Blueray / dvd reader / writer
    BT
    Wireless
    1gb hybrid memory module 'intel'
The screws underneath the laptop are originally black but mine had silver ones beneath

Here 2 last pics i had of my laptop.
I will upload more pics if i have my usb cable back.

This is just to report extra to see if i have a chance to get my laptop or
    my money back.

The reason for my sale was the drivers of the card i could not update ( bsod every time i did )
so i wanted to sell it and get a new m17x, but yeah dident work out as u guys read above.

In the future, the key piece of info is the Service Tag, not the specs.
Dell could find it by that info, as could LoJack. Good luck anyways.

Why doesnt the shell look anything like mine? First version?

Sorry to hear that buddy. I know how it feels like to loose an expensive laptop. But this lesson should be a hard one for ya to be careful next time when you sell anything online.

Someone posted a message within the Alienware forums (not sure which one, but thought it was this one) within the last few days asking how to reset the BIOS password on an m15x. He said he had just purchased the laptop, but the seller forgot the password. Can't find it now. May have been removed by the Moderators who discourage those kind of posts because of the possibiity that they are theft related. If your BIOS was password protected, you might check with BatBoy.

Thx for the messages, yeah the problem was i bought it in the UK from a laptop store as second hand so thats why i guess i cant knock the door at alienware/dell, i only had a windows password, no security on bios.

I will just have to wait a bit till i have enough, then i will buy the new m17x model.
I wish they had this model with the same specs op today, really loved the looks.
Stupid thing selling it because it was like really clean :) but yeah upgrading it was to expensive.

Anyway thx again, just wanna put it out so this guy can get cought with the crime he did, just wait a month or 2 and buy a other one.

    Cheers guys.

I remember that. I do believe it got deleted though, or thrown in the Legacy section.
