    Hey guys, I recently came into possession of an Alienware Area 51m 766SN3 laptop. I am going to be trying to buy this from my friend but am borrowing it right now to repair a busted HDD on it. I've been looking at this machine and fell in love as it's the older design which is what originally made me fall in love with gaming computers and want an Alienware in general. Now I have the chance to finally own one.

    I have some questions about it though as this is a bit of an older laptop. There apears to be no wireless card inside of it, does anyone know of any I can get that will work with this or should pcie/minipcie card work assuming it will fit?

    There is a Geforcego FX 5700 in it right now. I have not tried playing any games on it or anything yet so I'm not too sure how good it is, but is it possible to upgrade this card, and if so what else can you put in I believe it's AGP.

    The processor is a Pentium 4 3ghz, again is there anything this is upgradeable to?

    Last but not least, would there happen to be any illuminated/backlit keyboard or mods people might have done to put in this laptop to have a lit up keyboard? I know it's probably pretty unlikely but I figure it's worth asking.

    I can't find much information on the internet about this computer aside from people selling random cables from it. I don't know if it falls into the "5500" line or if it's just a 766snn3 or what. If anyone can give me any help/information/advice on this it would be much appreciated. I have a decked out desktop and an m11x laptop already. I don't plan on using this as a main machine or anything, but if I could get it to the point where it runs very well and can play a lot of stuff that would be a definite plus. I mainly plan on using it for watching movies and what not for it's bigger screen and very high resolution compared to my m11x.

    Lmao, just sell this p4 alienware. There is no point keeping it. Your m11x on full load takes less then that alienware on full load. Put it this way you could use your alienware on idle 24 hours a day for 365 days and then run that old p4 on idle for 24 hours a day for around 50 days and that p4 will take more power consumption. It would be better getting a 42" full hd led tv and run the movie from your m11x and it would take less power consumption then your alienware p4.

    The pentium m was 4 times better perfermance per watt at the same time. Now your m11x is around 10 times better performance per watt then your old alienware. My 5930g takes 70w full load gaming maxed out cpu and gpu and your p4 alienware takes 100w just to look at desktop and probably around 200w just to game and its 1/10 of the power gpu wise wise, cpu is 1/4 of the performance and it takes 3 times as much electricity as my laptop that is 4 years old.

    No point in upgrading anything.
