So I just picked up this m3450i that was built in 2006 on the super cheap. It had bad solider on the charging pin. I re-flowed the connections and all working now. Not bad for $25 on Clist.
It has a t5500 cpu and I am looking into the biggest CPU that will run on this. I see that a t7600 is the largest one in this family. I would be happy with it, but I wonder if some of the other CPU's would work. Not sure if there is a Bios to let that happen or what. I see many CPU's that I would like to use in the 800mhz bus speed. These CPU's used are pretty cheap now a days.

I read an old thread on putting a t7600 in this machine on the forums here, but it was closed and is 5 years old. So I am starting this new thread. A lot has changes since then and parts are cheap. I would like to add as much memory as I can. It has 512 now. Will this support more the 2gig and if so how much. I under stand I am limited to what 2 sticks will give, but like the CPU will newer memory work or is it just pc5300 only. If I can get 4 gigs or more and a 2.5 or faster CPU I am going to use win7 ultimate. It as the factory cd's and are installed for XP home. It is running well and all the drivers are factory. I have the driver CD also. I have better windows laying around just running what this came with for now.

    Thanks for your help,
    Tom
