Comand Center Tip

Well I locked up my M17x messing with some drivers so I had to do a system restore. When I reinstalled CC my keyboard wouldnt light up, and FX wouldnt show my keyboard as being an option. I then dug into the CC folder under alienware in programs and found a program called fxtester. FX tester tests the keyboards possible colors and then pulses it. Once I performed that I reopened CC and the keyboard and its zones were there!! Problem solved.

 

Hmm .. I am having the same issue ... will look into it when I reach back home in the evening ..

I really hope that this works

 

I get the error "No board detected .. it seems there is some problem with alienfx board"

It's a neat program indeed.

 

Sounds like you might have a bad FX board, I hope not. CC is really touchy on the order in which you load drivers. Uninstal, reinstal the drivers and patches in the correct order. Pay attention to the dialog that pops up and says bios are being loaded on the FX board, if you have an issue there should be an error code or something.

 

++rep for that buddy, I did a factory reinstall using alienware respawn and guess what bad bios, alienfxtester fixed it (i think reinstalled the bios) .. and wow .. things are great now

though I really hate vista and specially that I have 32-bit version. I will shift back to Win 7 64 bit but i need some more info before i go for installation as I have always followed the driver sequence and things don't seem to work for me

None of you have a bad keyboard, I had the EXACT same problems on a reinstall.

For people that couldn't make the keyboard work with the tester...

Does your keyboard flash when you run the Fxtester? If it does than your FXboard is ok and there is just a driver issue. If the keyboard doesbt flash than you might have an issue. The program will test red, blue, white, and green.

Even I tried to install win vista manually (without alienware respawn) and I wasn't able to get the command center work. Actually command center runs ok but doesn't change the lights.

I followed in exact sequence but something goes wrong always

 

I did a fresh Win 7 Ultimate install and followed the driver installation sequence to the last bit, no success







I am unable to change the lightening of the keyboard, keyboard lights are ON and set to previous color that I set on win vista (installed it using alien respawn). I ran alienfx tester and it is changing the colors properly.
