    Hello

I made this software to fix the low FPS with my AMD video cards. You just need to open it and it will run in the background. Just wanted to share it because I have amazing improvements with it.

Here's a short video showing a before and after: >>Video<<
I have only tested it with my M17 R1, so I only know that it works with it. If anyone test it with any other pc and see any difference just tell me to include it to the list.

    >>Download link<<

    Works with:

    Computer GPU OS Driver Boosted
    M17 R1 3870 CF Windows 7 Ultimate, 8 pro and Vista Ultimate AMD 13.1, 13.9 Legacy Driver ~ 125% FPS

Looks like a nifty tool you made. What was the root cause of this AMD issue anyhow? I wonder if I am missing some frames w/ my 4850.

Well you can try it out and compare frames.

AMD runs a service in the background that somehow it makes the FPS get absurdly low. If you close this service the frames will go up, but games will take longer to launch and in my case it will freeze my computer every time I enter to any full screen program. So I managed to make some "hack" to stop the service from fooling with the FPS, but still be alive (running). Right now I'm in love again with Windows 7+ (I had to stop using them since I was getting 40 FPS...)

I tried it for the heck of it but on my m5750 it seems to not experience the same problems your newer alienware does. My 3D mark graphics score went up to 5856.5 from 5855.7 but no huge gain like you experienced. Still fun to try and glad it will help fellow M17 owners!

Wow you got 5856 with a single 4850 in vantage?

That's a pretty amazing number for a single GPU. I got 7308 for the 3870 CF. Only if the 4850 where easy and cheap to find :(.

At the time the seller actually had 4 on ebay for $100 a pop. I now regret not grabbing the other 3 to help forum members out. I did contact the seller and he said there is a possibility he could get a hold of some mxm cards in the next month or so.

    Wow.

I haven't given this an extensive test, but it seems to clear up the atieclxx processor problem nicely - well done!

How does it work, precisely? I've been messing around with this issue off and on for a while.

Also, does the problem only affect win7 and win8? I'm running win7 on mine presently.

Though I did cave and buy a new lappy a while back (specifically because of this issue), I still use my M17 pretty regularly - just couldn't let go for some reason!

    Hello.

It basically kill the process when it detects that its consuming to much CPU, that's the basics. I only had this issue with newer ATI drivers, so perhaps it have nothing to do with Win 7+, but since you need to install newer drivers for Win 7+ to recognize the GPU well...

Out of curiosity, did you encounter the error in Vista with the legacy drivers installed or only win7? I ask, because I'm a bit obsessive and am now wondering what the root cause is.

I never installed the newest driver with vista. I always used the one that the recovery disc have so I don't know.
