Hi all, thanks for a wonderfully informative forum I am a serial lurker here and this site has helped me out on more occasions than I can remember
I was wondering if anybody has any information or links to information regarding the above card, specifically the MXM type.
I have a faulty one in my M9750-M9700i-R1 which I would like to replace (Yes I have tried the baking method ;) to no avail ) possibly with something better/ more reliable if such a thing exists.
Apologies if this is a bit of a noob question but I have been searching all afternoon and I am turning up all sorts of conflicting information and the few remaining hairs on my head are becoming lonelier by the second.
    Thanks in advance
    Dan

Best choice, Mobility Radeon 3870. If you want to be risky, I managed to get a 3700M to work in there as well, but, it died after about 2 months. Not sure if it was the card or what.

Thanks, I will keep an eye out for one.
Just had a quick google and they seem to be in short supply, if there is anybody on here with a reasonably priced one that is looking for a new loving home feel free to drop me a line

    Hi again,
Attacking this from a slightly different angle, if I were to replace my toasted 7950GTX with a 7900GS - a) Would it work? b) If it did what sort of difference would I notice?
I have been looking at the relative specs and I appreciate that the GTX is a superior beast in many different ways but I am not particularly into waving benchmark numbers around at people (You can probably guess by the age of the hardware I am using ;)) I just like a playing a bit of lunchtime MW2 at work.
Any advice would be gratefully received
    Thanks
