Hey everyone, I got a great deal on an m5750 but am having some issues. The original owner bought a 4gb kit to upgrade, which with the 1.09 BIOS would not work. He included the second stick, so I figured I would update the bios to 1.19w to enable 4GB support. That worked well enough, but unfortunately the computer will no longer boot from DVDs or more importantly, use the video card properly.

I reinstalled Windows 7, fresh install, updated all MS updates. The computer, however, is in 4 bit color mode, at a very poor resolution. In device manager, the video card says a standard VGA adapter, and displays a CODE 12 (not enough resources). It will not install the correct drives, or even function like a normal "Standard VGA adapter", giving only a few colors and 640x480 resolution. The BIOS provides no way to disable other resource using devices, so I am of the mind that I need to revert back to an earlier BIOS to have video functionality, if even with "only" 2GB of ram.

The system has a T2400, single 2gb stick, and I believe the x1800 graphics (that's what the seller told me). It has a single hard drive in it.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or can show me where to get an earlier BIOS and how to revert?

    Thanks!
    Max

depends on what card is in there. some of the bios weren't able to be used with the 8600gt, i cant remember why though. you might have to revert back to an earlier bios, or find and x1800 or hd3650 to put in there.

if you have one of those cards then i would revert back to the older bios and do a little more research. i read somewhere that there was an issue with this bios (1.19) and some video cards but im too lazy to look right now. if i come across it ill pm it to you.

Yes, I found the same info, I just cant find the actual BIOS file. Without a hive account on AW.com, they wont let you download bios files. Searching online, it seems the only bios files I could find are the lastest, because most people just want to update to overclock the 7600g cpu.

I foolishly did not back up the bios before flashing, seeing the success of others online.

I appreciate the help, if you could notify me if you find it that would be great!

    Thanks!

I searched for hours before I posted this thread. Once posted, what do you know? Found solution. The clown had put an 8600M in there, which apparently doesnt play nice with the 4gb ram fix. For googlers after me-

I used 1.15, worked fine to get video.

Now onto finding if I can actually fun 4gb of ram.
