    Help from Area 51 m17x owners

    I'm thinking about buying a barebone, to build a laptop like my old one in my sig, which got stolen from a Hostels safe in Parague.
    I read all the threads about this, and face the same problem. Could not find an optical drive caddy for smartbay. But I'm not going to give it up.

    So please somebody, who has one in his laptop, please look at all the part numbers on it (please dismantle a bit if they are not visible). I hope I can find something if I have the part number(s).

    Also I was thinking that if these things have the value of gold, I should buy a used Area 51 m17x, take it out, and try to get hold of a Chinese firm that would copy it for me, and maybe order about 100, and sell it online. I've heard stories like this. What do you think?

    All suggestions are welcome.

    I have battery from my old one, no need for cover. The original batteries need no cover. CPU heatsink I saw on ebay.

    The smartbay drive caddy is hard, but nothing is impossible. That's why I'm looking for a part number.

    I don't have a link for the heatsink, but I know I saw it somewhere.
    Also I spoke with some people, and I'm pretty sure I will be able to manufacture the battery caddy, and I will get hold of a few DVD caddies too. So anyone who wants to give up this bulid DON'T! Not sure about the prices for the parts, but I hope it will worth it.
