I have seen lots of posts for people installing windows 7 on many machines, but not necessarily the m17x. So I am curious if people have had trouble doing this?

I started with trying to install Vista 64-bit, but could not get into the install process, the computer would just sit and churn on the start-up process.

So I moved to trying windows 7 and it easily went into the install screens, but then I have been plagued by the "CD/DVD driver is not available", which after looking around seems to plague a lot of people.

So I am in hopes that the Bios update, will help fix the issues. But does anyone know? Does anyone know if the bios update really changed much?

I would love to hear form people about their experiences trying to install windows 7 on the m17x???

If you are having problems with the cd drive why not try a usb optical drive and see if you can get the os in that way?
