    Hi guys,
A few weeks back my Alienware has started giving this isuue.
I no longer able to control lighting on my Alienware. I have been recieving error messages when I login to my PC.
Also the lighting is different for each location. The keyboard glows red and the Alienware logo is orange. The pipe glows orange too. i dont see lights around the touchpad and the touch controls. Again all the lights go on and off for each second or so. it is annoying...Please help.
Even when I power on my PC, before boot in it still glows on and off.
I will add the screenshots in few minutes

    Thanks for the help.

The first error I recieve is below. When I click ok, it gives me the second error message.

After logging into your pc, check task manager and see if the alienfx services are running. If not, you could always try to uninstall the command center utility and download from the dell site (make sure its not off your cd) and reinstall it.

    Thanks for your input Khetik.
I see 2 services running after I login to my pc. (after gng thru the above error messages). These are
    1) AlienFusionController.exe *32
    2) AlienFXHook32Mngr.exe *32

Also my alienware m15x is the previous model...not the one offered from Dell.

If anyone need additional information, Please let me know.

Anyone think it is a hardware failure?
The reason I am saying is I had this issue couple of months back when I was using the laptop.
After that I re-installed windows vista and installed the drivers. But that doesn't resolve the issue.
    Please share your thoughts.
    TIA

You have indeed posted in the wrong forum, if the mods could move it that'd be great that way people with your laptop can help you out better.

However, no sense ignoring the thread altogether.

So, I found this after some searching, if you updated your Command center at all this could be a fix for you: AlienFx keyboard lights not working (Mobile Systems)

My initial suggestion over uninstalling and reinstalling command center still stands as you haven't tried it. Since you have the area-51 model you would have to go to the alienware site and go to MyHive and obtain it from there.

Also, if you went from vista to windows 7, look at this link as well as it could've been the cause of the problem. There are some solutions and patches to apply in case you missed them: Installation guide for Windows 7 drivers for the Area-51 m15x and Alienware M17 laptop systems.

EDIT**: I did a bit more searching and if the above fail, here is something that looks very promising for you: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/451316-area-51-m15x-keyboard-lights.html

    Hi Khetik,
    I am on vista x64.
Anyways, i un-installed and re-installed command center (the same that was listed in the link in the above post).
Again no luck. I missed to put some information.
I cannot enable alienware fx. If i try to click on enable, it is giving the following error.

Let me know if this is something you are familiar with.
Again thanks for your time guys.

    try power drain

    shut down
take out battery and unplug every cord from the laptop
press power button around 20 second
    boot it up

Hello everyone! after much research I found in this post I may have what it takes to me ....
    I have assembled a m15x-R1 with a X9000 CPU, 8GB DDR2, 60GB SSD.
The PC with the integrated intel video card to boot, but if I insert the fx3600m PC starts for few seconds and then goes
Stand by pulsing with alienhead ......... how I can solve? thanks for the help
    My bios version of the video card (fx3600) is 62.92.27.00.09 (techPowerUp! :: VGA Bios Collection: HP Quadro FX 3600M 512 MB );
I discovered that there is a bios 62.92.27.00.05 (techPowerUp GPU-Z Validation g7ud5 ) which should make the card compatible with the Alienware m15x, so I ask anyone to post the bios 00.05 or otherwise who has the video card running on Alienware m15x to save the bios of the video card and maybe send it ....... Thank you!
