any one know what lcds are compatible with the m17 ?

or wich laptop use the same screen size/connector for the pannel ?

i'm looking to see if i can fit something not natural for a m17 inside like a RGB led or a 120hz screen

so far it seem like the screen in the m17 is the LG LP171WU1 but i don,t know wich version it is

    LP171WU1 tl a?

i'm also wondering if the screens can be exchanged from let's say a LP171WU1 to a LP171WU3 or 4

but for now it's so undocumented that i can't even fin out if i can switch from a LP171WU1 tl a? to an onthe rev of a?

EDIT my m17 has a LG Philips LP171WU3-TLB3

(tl)(a2) is the best LCD screen available and it fits perfectly into the m17
i believe all of those screens will fit but they are not high quality screens. if your upgrading pr replacing only use the LP171WU1(TL)(A2) screen

atm my LP171WU3-TLB3 seem like a great screen (it's the best i've seen so far ) how ever even if i service quite some laptop i rarely see some that are over 1k worth

does the LP171WU? part mean something shouldn't the higher number mean something?

i know the TL - A? is just a way to mark the manufacturing plant and not the qualitie of the screen

brining this thread back to life

anyone has enough knowledge to tell me if i can upgrade my curent screen from dual ccfl to a led back lit version

    i currently run LP171WU3-TLB3

and i know there is a LP171WU4 with a led back lit that's used for the macbook pro 17" it has the same size same definition but i can't find if it use the same connector
