LMAO I called AW to seek info about warranty for the hard drive, its a seagate drive (i did check with seagate, they said to contact original manu), and they told me the "laptop" is out of warranty, yeah I know duh!
So I said the hard disk is under a 5 year warranty thru Seagate, he said hold on........I am sorry sir it is out of warranty also, what!? If the Laptop is out of warranty then everything inside of it is out of warranty...., are you kidding, he said NO. LMAO
so what you guys think? What do I do with this hard drive thats 2 years old and dead, will Seagate honor it?

hdd are so cheap if it's the only part that broke after 1 year then you should be fine
how ever you should have contacted seagate without telling them this was a product sold by alienware to see if there is a work around -
yeahs I know about cheapness, client wants a bigger drive anyways, already received it today, but just wondering about original Hdd.
I will call up Seagate tomorrow, and see what they say. I did enter the serial and part number for the drive and the comeback was check with original system manufacture, though Seagate should still honor the warranty.
Now to get W7 on it.... -
Seagate should still replace it, i've had no problems doing this with OEM drives of theres in the past. The guy at Alienware is right, the warranty on your laptop has expired Seagate supplies the warranty not alienware.
Laptop out of Warranty? so is everything inside...
