I recently installed the latest command center software on an area-51 m15x during which the firmware was updated. During the install, all the lights went out (which I think is normal). However, when they came back on again the word "Alienware" under the screen stayed dark. I've tried changing the colour but nothing seems to work. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix![]()

Oh I've had that problem when I had my m15x. It was when I upgraded from Vista to 7 and boy was that a disaster. The only fix I came up with was reverting back to windows vista and even then my keyboard still wouldn't light up.

Yeah I tried that fix when I still had my m15x but it didn't help me at all lol. Hope it fixed the problem for you though.

I'm not sure if the latest command centre is comparable with legacy systems. Have a look at this post http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...gacy-systems/504612-command-center-2-0-a.html it has the link to the compatable cc for the area 51 m series. Once installed apply the registry fix and all 'should' be well. That is assuming the hinge is still intact lol
Lights out after command center update on m15x
