    There is a W7 on M17 Thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=359344

I got the Command Center to work but I only tryed it one time and because I had no need for it I didn't install it after the second install of W7.

I am note quite sure, too long ago, but I had a problem with AlienSence, the other stuff worked ...

    Greetings

    P9500, crossfire 3870, blu ray reader, intel 5300 wireless n, 1920x1200, 4gb ddr3-1333 g.skill

I took a loss, but that is because I bought the barebones kit and added parts myself - eg I was a noob at notebook stuff at the time (would have been much cheaper to get comparable from AW really :( )

I got my whitebook used in July for $1600 including a QX9300, 2x320 RAID 0, and a TVTuner. Thank you, M17x for coming out!

Julian, I would try to shoot for $1100 - $1200 but be ready to accept lower. Or just be happy with what you have. I wanted an M17x but I am definitely happy with my used m17/Whitebook after I added an SSD and tweaked everything.

you must have forgotten, I had a whitebook and sold, I take steps forward not backwards ;)

Them 4870's caught my eye but i think i will hold out for next gen nvidia stuff to be safe (since nvidia plays happy with eachother but mixing nvidia/ati is trouble most likely)

That's completely impossible. It could be easly possible if they implemented lucid hydra in notebooks but that's very very unlikely. Though it would be awesome and would sell loads of notebooks.

    Quick question,

If a M17 is ordered with one hard drive, does the caddy for a 2nd come with it?

Yes the M17 comes with the second caddy. No Interposer needed. You just need 4 laptop screws, or borrow two from your 1st Hard Drive to install on your second drive.

My M17 came with a bag of 4 spare screws as I suspect they should unless they have been forgotten.....not important now as Scook says its gone even as a recertified system.

well not only were there 4 screws in this bag but a strange piece of metal that looked like some hard drive shim or spacer???
never figured out what that was?

From what Ive read many M17 owners did not get the screws either so your not alone Marvie!

Anyone have issues with their trackpad? I usually use a mouse with my M17, and when I unplug it, I still can't use my trackpad. I updated the drivers for it, and even unchecked the "disable trackpad when USB mouse is detected".

It should be able too, as long as it is in the master slot (the one next to the CPU) but you can only have 1 of these, no SLI

And dual 3870 will FAR out perform a single 9800gt and cost less

Thanks for the heads up pal.

This is absolutely disgraceful behaviour.....to not allow us to extend our warranty past a year.
Now our M17s are worth even less than before! they will be much harder to sell on.
What do we do for parts? if they develop hardware faults do we throw them in the bin?
I wasnt surprised to hear that it took you hours upon hours of phone calls as mentioned in your other thread just to get this information.

    Thanks fusionsenses!

Hi guys, I accidentally pulled out my quick launch bar from my m17 and I think I broke the house that is soldered in the motherboard. Do you guys have any ideas how to fix those? I know it is quite impossible to resoldered the house into the motherboard anymore, so is it any other way that I can boot my laptop with my mouse, my keyboard? Any inputs are welcomed, Thanks
