I recieved my second M17 a couple of days ago (the first didnt work too well) which works perfectly! The only complaint I have is that the graphics for the OSD are generally pretty flawed / badly colored / un-uniform.
So I have decided to remake them, and just wondered if its worth sharing my work with you guys if you have similar gripes with the current design?
Heres a little preview of the new icons :

If you're interested, just give me some feedback via this thread and I'll upload the lot![]()
EDIT : The brightness icons have been fixed since that screenshot, so now look much better
-
-
i will test them for you if you like .
thanks for your contribution and welcome -
Heck ya. Good job man. +rep buddy!
-
Wow. Nice job, man icons look really nice.
-
oooOOooo pretty colors...
-
Heck yah, those are sweet looking, I'll take em.
-
Wonder if it would work for a M17X
-
I also want to redesign the entire UI with support of AC/DC colors. do let me know if you can help.
If unsure about AuroraLightsFX then pay a visit to tool & applications thread in my signature -
Would this OSD mod work on the m15x as well?
-
Those look really good. Keep it up!
-
Waiting for the upload adamwalker13,
Anytime you're ready. -
Sorry for leaving you hanging guys! I'm actually on holiday at the moment, so the release will take a while longer than anticipated. Hopefully in the next day or so though!
As for working with the m15x, well, if the OSD app is the same, then there is no reason why these wouldent work
And I am more than happy to help design icons for other apps, I'll take a look at the aurora effects stuff -
it's probably not exactly the same.
-
Do you have a download link to the m15x OSD? If so, I'll check it out and see if its the same. The M17 app does have some unused icons...
-
We're still anxioiusly awaiting an upload of these adam, still planning on giving us a peak?
-
Ok, I've had some problems with the exporter breaking the edges, but other than that all Icons are finished now.
Here's a link to the current ones (The edges are still broken, and I am currently fixing, but it takes a little while)
http://rapidshare.com/files/247418051/NewSkin.rar
The fixed versions are coming soon, so just use these as a sample rather than a permentant replacement.
To install just goto SYSDRIVE\Program Files\OSD\Picture and copy all the pictures into there.
REMEMBER TO BACK UP THE ORIGINALS FIRST -
Thanks for the update adamwalker13,
Do you have to remove old pictures first?
I look forward to the final version.
Thanks again! -
nah, the new ones should over-write the old ones, thus the need for the backup
-
thanks ill rep you when i cAN
-
Just thought I'd bump this since it's not stickied anywhere for new M17 Owners. These replace the standard AW OSD Icon's and they're much brighter. See Post #16 for the download, and page 1 for the pictures.
-
I feel like trying these out. Downloading now.
Thanks for the bump, Marvie. -
thanks for the bump i'll try them when i'll be on my m17
-
I downloaded them. Pretty sweet.
Ive never seen the AlienFX icons pop up. Does anyone know when those pop up?
btw..Has there been an update to the alienFX software since the release of the m17x? -
these are actualy for the m17 cause in the m17 you need to press fnf10 to change the keyboard color
i actualy don't think the m17x as a fx icon -
-
Nothing was wrong , he just wanted his own
-
where do i find osd on my m17? its not in programs
-
c:\Program Files\OSD\Pictures
If you don't have it installed, here's the link to install the OSD:

Speaking of mods.. If anyone is capable of combining light colors on M17's keyboard that would be great. I know its possible just has got to be a mod for it. Ive had two different scenarios happen. First was when i was shutting down and for some reason didnt shut down after like 10 mins... i held power button and i got this wonderful bright white light blue color. Other time it seemed to have gotten stuck on between red and blue and it gave me this stunning vibrant purple color. When windows fully loaded, color whent back to blue... -
