    Hi everyone.

I have a problem with my laptop and maybe somebody here can help me to solve it.
I have two Ati HD 3870 Crossfire enable, and when i turn on my computer, everything is going perfect. I also can run a game, expample Guild Wars, and is working perfect, no problem at all. The problem arrive when I close the game, and I try to run it again. The screen turn totaly black, and the laptop crash, because the mouse freeze, the keybord doesn't work, etc... So completly crash so I have to force to shut it down... This only happen when I try to run a game the second time without restart the laptop or turn it off and on again.
ATM I'm using the drivers 10.11 Win7 x64 for Notebook (like my OS), with no modification.

    Thanks for the help.

First, this should be in the legacy notebook subforum.

Anyway, I was having exactly the same issue. I fixed it by reverting to the 10.8 drivers. You should be able to find the download link in this thread; make sure you download the 64-bit Vista/Win7 mobility drivers.

Make sure you do a completely clean install as you're going back to an old version. First uninstall the drivers (load the installer for 10.11 drivers, but click 'uninstall', or go to the device manager and uninstall from there), reboot, run Driver Sweeper (google it, it's a free program) and get rid of any traces of ATi programs. I'd recommend going through your 'program files' and deleting any ATi/Catalyst folder you find.

Then edit the registry (bring up the start menu, in the search bar type 'regedit' and hit enter), go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software, right click on any ATI or AMD entry there and click 'delete'. (Be warned right now; editing the registry incorrectly CAN screw up your entire system. You can skip this step if you don't feel confident but it's recommended to get a completely clean installation.)

Then restart and install the 10.8 ATi drivers as normal.

I haven't tried any other past drivers, but that should fix it for you.
