I was given this Alienware laptop as a gift for fixing a newer laptop by a customer.
I am trying to find out anything about it like when was it made and do they have build sheets.
Also trying to find BIOS, firmware, and drivers for it to get it up to speed The Alienware support site makes me crazy. I dont see a service tag on the bottom so I assume it was made before 2009 and also there is a WinXP key decal on the bottom
It boots up and everything seems to work with 2 exceptions. 1 is it has an unknown device in Device Manager (I hope its a WLAN device as it seems to not have one) and the other is the "7" key doesnt work but it does work on the Numpad.
The attachment is what I know it has from SiSoft Sandra.

If I am thinking of the wrong model I apologize, but it has a P4 right? If so I think summer of 2006 is when they stopped selling that model. Right before the m5750 came out with the Core 2 Duo in September 2006. The 7 key sounds like you may need some repair parts or a new keyboard. As far as the unknown device, google download and run a program called "unknown devices". It should tell you what driver you are missing.

Guess you didnt look at the attachment. It has an AMD 64 FX60 dual CPU.
I wrote a post Sunday night but I guess it didnt somehow get posted.
I ran the programs for unknown devices and none of then detect USB devices. I finally got it solved by installing the EZUSB driver. Also flashed to BIOS 1.09 without a hitch and flashed the video card too. Then spent the next 2 days on the unknown device. Finally on Sunday night it was good to go with the exception of no RAID.
Woke up Monday morning and found a 1 inch wide white line running vertically about 3 inches from the right side.
Woke up Tuesday and found another 1 inch wide line about 3 inched from the left side. Guess the first one was lonely.
It has the 1900x1200 WUXGA display. I might have to add this to the Folding@Home farm.

The actual manufacturer (Clevo) drivers are here.
The WiFi and TV card slots are under the keyboard. If you need to check, the keyboard is released by pushing in the small spring loaded tabs at the top of the keyboard as you look at it.
The M7700 D9K was thee first true Dual Core laptop released in 2005.
Vertical lines suggest you have a bad lcd panel.

    Greetings,

How did you pull all the specs like that? I just got myself a M7700 D9T, but want to confirm it.

    Thanks.

Look at the bottom stickers. You can also go into your system properties by right-clicking on "my computer" or running a free tool such as "pc wizard".
