Modding Dell/AW Command Center for use on m17

wow an other good news for the legacy dell did not remove the suport for orler system in the command center it even detect my actual model in the power seting the only thing is that it does not detect that my model is not capable of alienFX but that's not big deal

as the old command center download got corrupetd i wanned to get facial reconition back i got to try the new one and it works

 

good to hear

they would have no good reason for excluding past models as EVERY feature except for AlienFX should work on ANY computer (even desktops)

 

corection aliensense make a crash saying invalid lisence or something .....


that iriting especialy since the webcam driver on my hive is death and and the command center also there is just no way we can install it now

 

Those should both be on the resource disk if you have that

 

the resousrce disk got the vista version it does not install and i succeded at forcing the old command center to instal in 7 befor ... it bricked my install

 

If you're installing AlienSense on the original machine that it came with and it's still failing the license check, it may need to be fully de-installed and re-installed. The easiest way to do this is by removing and replacing the entire command center. Let me know if that works.

 

Keep in mind, he is trying to install the current Dell/AW Command Center on an AW Legacy system which is not going to work correctly (as he has already noticed).

The process you outlined should work with the latest version of ACC for the legacy systems. Will it do what he wants in W7? Probably not

 

the problem is that the download links in my my hive have been corupted and won't install
my ressource cd is for vista and will corupt fataly any window 7 install you try to make it work on

the command center could work as my fusion experiment showed it does even reconise my m17 just like the old did ( ic an post screen shot)

in last resort what i could try would be to extract the old aliensens and try to inser it in the new command center but that's kinda wierd they removed suport for it when they did not on alienfusion and touch and on something else i'm not gonna discus here

 

Actually you can not (typically) install AlienSense separately from the Command Center. If you want, you can PM me and I can provide you with the instructions (they're pretty detailed and involve the command line) privately by email.

 

Mmmm....sorry. I know quite a lot about AlienSense (I work for the manufacturer) but I really don't know anything detailed about the command center itself. Thanks for the clarification.

 

i'l probably end up calling alienware and ask them what ........ is going on with the m17 suport my warranty has still 10 days left .....

 

i sucessfully installed the command center and readed the old aliensens to it how ever i still have an issue with the aliensens not always working it seem randoom i have to disable and reenable the webcam for it to work i also had to desinstall webcam FA driver for it to work



how ever i don't know where the icon that the command center use is so i can edit it back to the new one to match the theme

 

If you could, please provide specifics about what you mean when AlienSense doesn't work. Do you not see video on the login screen? If not, what do you see? Do you mean something else entirely?

how ever the more it goes the more i suspect my AV to be the source of it it also deseabeled my touch key and such i think i'm gonna sugest my work office find a less paranoid AV software
