    Hey all,

I have an older Area-51 m15x with the ATI HD3870 card in it. Have the 8.75 drivers installed and am running Windows 7 x64. I am running into issues when using the HDMI output. I can play any game and can run the FurMark stress test fine when using just the laptops LCD.

When I hook up HDMI into my TV and play any game (anything graphic intensive) including running FurMark, things get choppy quickly and both the LCD and the TV displays turn off. The laptop is still on (never shuts down), just both displays go blank. When running FurMark, it took roughly 20 seconds for both displays to shut off.

I just performed a fix on the cooling for the graphics card recently. The laptop LCD was turning off, so used some Artic Alumina (ceramic poly compound) to re-do the heatsink. Worked fine! Can do just about anything when just running the LCD. Once I attempt to use the HDMI, this new issue occurs.

Any advice on my next step?
