What is exactly the error that you are getting and on what stage of the installation?

This has been discussed in this forum before. If you search you should be able to get some good information. I can't remember the reason but I think in the end it was decided that Windows 8 simply will not work due to hardware incompatibility. I seem to think it was either the motherboard bios, or a nvidia/integrated video card issue.

Yes, I read you were talking about nvidia card but mine has ati, guess it will be in the bios, error to start the installation goes blue screen without code

No this is fundamentally a compatibility issue with the BIOS. I was the individual who posted some information about this previously. The deal is if you have ACPI issue trying to install, the computer will never be able to upgraded to anything beyond Windows 7... ever...

It seems that 3rd part software is preventing the installation and the solution below worked for me this evening:

Quote: "Use msconfig to uncheck all non-Microsoft services and restart, then run downloaded KB2770917 file manually. The update was successful and I then restarted the PC with all services checked.".unquote

If you read he can not even get windows 8 installed on his pre-dell m15x so he can't run "msconfig". This is a known issue that others have had in this forum with no solution.
