So I have had my m15x since Sept 2008 and for the most part it has been fantastic. The only real issue I have had with it is durability. The upper left part of the frame around the screen is cracked, and the left hinge for the screen is broken. The paint is also chipping off. All of these things are due to use, which is slightly upsetting because I take good care of this thing. I only got a 1 year warranty which was obviously a mistake So I am wondering what can I do to resolve these issues? I think I can probably fix the hinge myself but the crack and the paint I can do nothing about. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do short of finding a place that sells parts for that m15x. Those lappys were notoriously bad around the hinges and I believe there is a fix for the issue floating around the internet somewhere.

Call your credit card company and make a claim. They usually provide an extra year of protection on your purchases. -
two questions. First, what paint should I use to touch up where it has been chipping also is there a coating I should get? second what do I have to buy to fix the hinge issue? I have looked on ebay and I can get a replacement frame(front black piece) but I cannot find another silver Ripley panel. All the ones on Ebay are broke as well. Any Help is greatly appreciated.
