This issue is pretty interesting. So I have no problem playing any game. I can play it from a minute to hours and it'll run the game smoothly. I'll then proceed to exit the game and browse the internet or type a paper. After that, if I proceed to play ANY game (after already having played a game on the laptop) the game will freeze up usually on a black screen (the screen that transitions from your desktop to the game). However, if I turn the system off and then reboot, it will do the exact same thing! It doesn't matter how long I am on the game on my first playthrough, it just won't load a game after I have already played a game previously. Maybe it has to do with the VRAM? Here are my specs:

    OPERATING SYSTEM:
    Windows 2.6.0.6001 (Service Pack 1)
    CPU TYPE:
    Intel® Core™2 Extreme CPU X9100 @ 3.06GHz
    CPU SPEED:
    3.09 GHz
    SYSTEM MEMORY:
    3.99 GB
    VIDEO CARD MODEL:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2
    VIDEO CARD MEMORY:
    2.73 GB

It's like my computer is saying, "You've already played one game for the day, you don't need to play two buddy"

    Thanks everyone!

    Thanks a ton!

So, I've been trying to roll back my drivers to 10.8 with no success. How am I supposed to do this? I unistalled my graphics card and reinstalled and then used the 10.8 suite install from AMD's website. Am I doing something wrong?

So, I've been having the issue with not being able to reload games with crossfire enabled. I have been reading forums and was eventually directed to a thread that explained to use driver 10.8 for the HD3870. However, I'm having major problems trying to install this driver without it just re-updating back to the latest driver. I've used Driver Sweeper and everything.

    Thanks everyone!

When you uninstall the driver via device manager a box should've popped up asking if you wanted to delete the driver, do so then also delete the current driver you downloaded that was causing crashes. If you don't delete the drivers windows will find + install them all over again once you reboot. Then restart, run driver sweeper, restart again then download and install 10.8.

I had a similar issue using those poop drivers after 10.5. You will most likely have to restore your computer back to an earilier date using a repair cd or clean booting. Sorry. No more driver upgrade attempts for me. I have failed at least 15 times since 10.5.
