Can anyone please specify a suitable thermal paste for CPU.
My processor is Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 @2.80 GHz (Dual processor).
Thanks

I use silver arctic 5 paste on everything, its good stuff!
-
OCZ Freeze!
-
I use ANtec Formula 5, which dropped my CPU temp by 6C. Just about any after-market, name brand paste will be better than stock paste.
-
I forgot to mention that highest temperature that I recorded was 103C, PC shuts down automatically, i will like to keep it around 90C
-
My personal new preference is ICD7 i've found it works better than AS5
-
You must be overclocking it, unless you put the cooler or paste on badly, 103 is way too hot for a cpu, it will heat every thing else up inside the PC aswell, Ive an X9100 and only hits 80c after heavy gaming.

Naah, no over-clocking, get this temp which playing farmville on facebook,
Honestly, ... -
then you have a bad past job a good cleaning and any paste even the cheapest one would do a better job
all of the above stated paste do a ggreat job provided they are aplid properly -
I tried some other paste on my new desktop cpu and i am extremely happy about it:
Noctua NT-H1
I suggest this above OCZ Freeze any day now.

the dremel gave nothing?
-
Actually dremel is not available in my region, ordering from USA/UK etc is way too expansive for me, still looking for other option ...
Same goes for the pastes -
Received ICD7 this morning, will apply //
lets hope things improve for me
