Trying to work out what the 4GB 745 GPU in the X51 R2 can be compared to

    Hi all

I'm considering buying a X51 R2 with i5-4440 and Nvidia 4GB 745 GPU refurb. Just wondering if any of you know how much of an upgrade this is over the previous 1GB 645. I can't find anything on the web comparing the two GPUs like-for-like, so just wondering if anyone knows what performance improvement there is over the previous gen card. I know the 270X is a good upgrade available in the R2 but it's a good bit extra for one of those. I'll be looking to play BF3/4, Watch Dogs etc (not too bothered if I can't play at high settings but do want consistent frame rates).

    Thanks very much in advance.

Wrong forum bud. You are in the legacy laptop forum.

Had some time so I googled anyways and according to PassMark the 745 (not the M version) comes in at above a GTX 550 ti but under a GTX 460.

You can find a list here. Overall you are probably better off building your own desktop but that is my .02
