Hi I had the M9750 with an nVidia 7950GTX, it went faulty but repaired it in the oven and it runs fine now, but while It was dead I had a couple of spare ATi 3870's so I tried one in it and it worked, the performace jump is excellent.

But the temps are a tad high, while playing GTA4 it hit 105c and with a cooler it hits 95c, my M17 with 3870x2 only hits 75c playing GTA4.

Lol I tried to play GTA4 with the 7950GTX...no its too jurky and with missing textures and temp hit 95c.

Any way of modding the M7950 to get it cooler?

The fans just dont run fast enough like the M17 :(

The m9750 typically runs "hot", however if it is going to 95 with the 7950's then either your fans are faulty or the thermal paste is incorrectly applied. The hd3870's should hit 90 tops, i've never seen my 3870's go higher than 90 in the m9750. Most important things to do with them is to move the memory pads so that they are more over the memory chips and to ensure that the heatsinks are very tightly screwed down. The use of an adequate amount of thermal paste correctly applied is also essential. The cards do run hotter in the m9750 than the m17 simply because the m9750's heatsinks are made of aluminium and the m17's of copper and copper is a better conductor of heat than aluminium.

Simon & Bollards were your fan speeds stuck at 30% all the time?

BEFORE READING: i did not replace the graphics card so, ignore the Tittle of the post.

I realize this is sortof "off topic" but it seems the two are relatively similiar, anway, Im running an are 51-m9700 or m9750 (it says m9700 series on the bottom of the laptop but the system claims it's a m9750) Intel core2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66ghz, with the GeForce 8700 gt graphics card. I had two 512mb DDR2 memory modules before i replaced anything, then obtained a Kingston Hyper X 2gig module. Now, when i installed the Kingston Module I intended on utilizing all the RAM i had so, initially i wanted to install a Toshiba 1gig RAM module that i had sitting around. But to no avail have i actually accomplished this.im stuck with 2.5 gigs (after reinstalling one of the stock modules again) but would much like to obtain another 2gigs for a maximum 4g performance. Now, is the problem due to a limited processor or a limited graphics card? (I forgot to mention: After installing the 2g Hyper X module with the 1g Toshiba module, attempting to turn it on, the power button flashed orange and did nothing. But, afterwards when i reinstalled the stock RAM module the computer turned on and functioned fine.)
2.5G of RAM is not going to cut it for me and my multitasking+gaming.

2.5g is the maximum the Arima platform of the M9750 can deal with, it's a hardware limitation... nothing you can do about it mate...
