Okay, I'm wondering about upgrading my m9750. I've been doing some research and found that I can upgrade my GPU to a ATi Mobility 3870; seeing as I only have one Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX I figure it would be significant upgrade. Now the only other thing I'm concerned about is my CPU. I have the Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processors and I'm wondering if I can replace this. I'm afraid they're either soldered on or I won't be able to find another CPU with a compatible socket, or all of the above. If the CPU is not upgradeable, is there a way I can replace the board itself? What are my other options? I'm wanting to play Final Fantasy XIV and I'm going to need to do something about this CPU. Thanks in advance.

I have an m9750 with a 3870 and the 3870 gives a big performance boost for games and photoshop. However, the 3870 is still the bottleneck, not my T7200. So, I think a faster CPU would be a waste of money unless you have CPU demanding applications.

    Oops there; Wrong:

the best the m9750 can get is the T7600, does can be found on forums like NBR, or on ebay.

Best GPU you can get is 2x HD3870 in crossfire mode.

as for ram I think 6 or 8 is the max but chipset limitation (not OS, 64bit won't change the hardware limitation) is 3.5 so 4gigs are plain enought.

the x9000 CPU if for the M17 laptop.

    Hey all,

If I might ask, I have an early M9700 with an AMD Turion 64, 2.41 Ghz. Is it possible to upgrade the CPU to an Intel and if so, what would the highest be that I could place in there?

The main thing I wish I could do is put in 4 Gigs of RAM. The sockets are DDR1. I havent been able to find 2Gig sticks anywhere. If only someone would start producing them. Surely there is a market.

2 hd 3870 will likely get hard on the cooling and over heat this is not sugested

the 9750m is limited to 4GB higher then that it won't use it it willl se it but it won't be usable

    the x9000 is not for the m17 it's for the m15x m17x and m9750
    the m17 got the x9100 and qx9300
