Well, after 2 years and having the hinges replaced once before (RIGHT before my warranty expired), my hinges are about to explode again. Both hinges are cracking and the right one especially has a huge gap between the screen side and the top side, if that makes sense. Also, both screws are constantly falling out of their hole even though I keep putting them back in and tightening them as much as I can, which isn't very much. I also keep finding these small shards of plastic coming from inside my computer through the gap on both hinges, which bothers me because that means something inside my computer has broken into millions of pieces.
I'm not very smart when it comes to this stuff, and I can't replace the whole top of my computer alone. Anyone know who could do it for cheap? I had contacted a site that claimed to do this, but they never responded to my emails. And I had done a Google search but, since this computer is older, all I get is really old posts that aren't very related or are happening within their warranty.
tl;dr version: Alienware has failed me AGAIN. Hinges are borked. Any suggestions as to where I can get it fixed for cheap?
Any advice or whatever would be welcome! Though I am starting school again soon, so... hopefully any fix can be done fast as well! And please don't suggest duct tape... that's not a great fix in my opinion...
Thank you!
