im wondering if anyone knows of a way to obtain a new power supply (the internal power that the ac adapter plugs into) my friend tripped over my cord and it cracked some plastic stuff inside of the ac adapter and the plug in spot that makes it very sensitive to the touch, if i barely jiggle the cord the laptop will no longer charge and it will flash "Battery" to "AC POWER" i replaced the ac adapter and bought a brand new one, i just need a new power supply. the warranty on it has expired... i bought this prior to the dell/alienware merge so its hard getting any answers

If you jiggle the power cord and your laptop switches between AC and battery, there is likely a broken solder joint or wire on the jack. Since your warranty is up, there would be no harm in opening it up and seeing exactly what's broken. If you're even moderately good at soldering, you can probably fix it. And if you cannot fix it, you can at least see what's broken. This will help when ordering something from Dell or eBay.

Its not the power supply, its the power jack.
