I currently have the t7200 installed but I am looking to upgrade to the t7600.

Ive seen a t7800 model and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade to this cpu instead?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

If the bios works that I gave you in the other thread the best CPU you can use is the overclockable T7600G. Again that is the best for the m5750/m5790 so check if the bios will work first as well as if the T7600G would run cool enough in your smaller notebook.

Yeah but if I downgraded my bios to 1.19 I know I could use 4GB but i have recently put a 9600m gt into my m500i-r3, would that work still if I changed my bios? Im not sure it would. I was thinking of getting just a t7600 and using setfsb to get 2.4ghz out of it. The t7600G is hard to come by these days.

With 1.19 from my knowledge. you can not use that Nvidia card. With your current bios now do you have the 30 sec startup issue?

The 1.19 would not be a downgrade but more of an "upgrade". You would just have to get another ati card like the 4670.

With the 9600m you have the 30second start up issue with the beep and the card only working in low performance mode....but I have modded to vbios to get rid of the error and beep and run the card in full clocks. Its pretty easy to do.

See that's the problem the 4670 MXM II is a very difficult card to come by. Can't find anywhere that sells it in the UK. If I could find a reasonably priced one then I would purchase it and downgrade to 1.19, 4gb ram and get the t7600G.

For now I'll just get the t7600 and overclock it from 2.33ghz to 2.4ghz. Just seems a nice number :p

Let me know how the overclock goes on the T7600. As far as I knew you could not overclock any besides the T7600G

The T7600G with the correct bios will let you over clock the cpu from the bios. The T7600 does not have this feature so presumably can be over clocked using setFSB. I will let you know how it goes :)

So, I've been skimming this thread checking off my list of things I've already done, and I just purchased a t7600. (the computer is intended to be a gift for a elderly gentleman to play at worst, oblivion at mediocre settings) Anyhow, I'm wondering, 1) how did you eliminate the beeps? (I too have the 9600m gt) I already modded the vbios and 2) that the reccomended rates I found had the thing crashing, so I'm just curious. what are you running at? and as for the t7600, It's crashing after a matter of minutes due to poor cooling. So, I'm not sure what to say to you. Aside from the crashing though, the CPU was good to go right off the bat. from what I've read and seen the t7600 is the best cpu for the mobo. i do not believe the t7800 will work

t7600g is the best for the m5750 / m5790 not sure if it would work for the m5550 or not but from my understanding it's the same motherboard. Make sure you are using good thermal paste on the cpu. Also be sure the heatsink pipes do NOT have any bends or creases in them. I accidentally bent one of my pipes when playing with different graphics cards and temps went up by 10-20C! I had to order a new used heatsink on ebay.
