    m7700 can you overclock 3.6ghz to 3.8?

    As a process of somewhat upgrading my area 51 m7700 to make it my daily office computer, I am wondering if it is possible to overclock the P4 3.6 chip to run at 3.7 or 3.8?

    First I am wondering if it can be done safely and second, if it is possible to do through bios? and if anyone has done it or knows the voltage etc...settings, I would highly appreciate it.

    Bios wise have you tried going in and looking if you can overclock? Most of the time they are locked.

    Not to drag up an old thread, but you could always just buy an 3.8ghz P4 chip (670), although I doubt you would see that much of a performance gain.

    Anyhow, you can easily pick up one of those chips for under $30. Here is a fleabay link:
