This is just a start, let me know if there is anything I've missed or should add. I'll need help from you BluRay guys, if you hear about any new BluRay drivers let me know.

I'd suggest you use Alienwares Sound / wireless / touchpad provided drivers. In my experience they are much better. They seem to just work better for me.

I completely agree with Stone the Alienware drivers are the most stable drivers available. BUT every once in a while you'll find an annoying bug that only a new driver will fix. I had a bug with my m7700's touchpad, Synaptics fixed the issue but Alienware never provided a Official driver to fix the bug.

Yea, it makes sense that they would not update the drivers sometimes, so I see how using the manufactures drivers could help.

I would be careful of AW graphics drivers. I haven't tried the latest one yet, but from my experience with previous AW graphics drivers, they don't work very well.

the new AW driver is works good. Very stable, unlike the previous one. No more Boot, crash, boot, crash, loop. But it can't quite match the performance of 169.25 driver. Crysis is unplayable with 167.45 AW Beta Driver, but it is a dumb game so who cares :D

I am using the Beta AW drivers and I am getting better performance from all of my games. This includes crysis. All of the laptopvideo2go drivers were bad on my system, and don't allow external monitors. The AW beta driver does. Don't know what I did right or what people are doing wrong.

169.28 actually slowed my machine down compared to 169.25. I made some other tweaks to vista since than, I'll run some FRAPS over the weekend and see what happens.

Hey brainer, just out of curiosity, what kind of framerates are you getting with unreal tournament 3, in places such as the center of the deck map, or ontop of the shangri-la bridge? I get massive fps slowdowns there where it drops from 60 down to 45. They say this is a processor issue, but I kind of doubt it. Im running with

    2.16 processor
    2 7950 GTX's
    2 gigs of ram
    Windows XP
    167 Beta Drivers

    Whats ur setup btw?

Agatius i dont really know, but i think what can solve your problem is the Driver on tweakforce.com , See the 169.28 Beta RC2, its the best driver i ever tried, its made for pure performance, but sad i'm under Crappy Vista so i'll still have SLI problems ^^

I use the alienware stock drivers and they are by far the most stable and have the best performance for me. I can run bioshock, COD4 etc on max settings and resolution with perfect frame rates and smoothness! Tried all the others and although the pcmark did go up, the performance in all games was not as good as the aw stock drivers.

after trying a couple different versions I ended up settling on 169.21 -the only problem I have seen is some choppy parts while playing crysis. Mostly I'm playing COD4, occasionally breaking out a game of Unreal Tournament 2k4 or Battle field 2142 (the latter 2 are big hits at LAN party nite in these parts!) - but COD4 works flawlessly on 1440x900 with all the settings maxed out, UT2K4 and BF2142 run flawlessy at 1920x1200 with all settings maxed out. The m9750 is a BEAST! I'm getting between 8200 and 8400 on 3dmark06 at default settings with the 169.21 drivers - I'm glad I didn't wait for the m17x...

I've just fiddled for hours with the 173.65 driver trying to get it to work but whenever i activate sli i get bugged. Whenever i right click my desktop i get the message "windows explorer has stopped working ..." then my desktop reboots/reloads itself. This happens every time i right click on my desktop :(

Sticky request granted, thanks for sending me the PM. I unstuck the m15x lighting issue since there is a link to that in the m15x FAQ. On NBR we like to keep the number of stickies down to about 3 or 4 so I had to unstick one.

hi everyone, this is my first post on these forums. hopefully this is the best place to ask this driver-related question: i have an m9750 and i'm having a problem with the marvell yukon ethernet controller. i'm at a university where the other computers in the office, connected to the same ethernet jack, measure 50-80 Mbps on an online bandwidth test ( www.speakeasy.net/speedtest). when i'm using only the built-in wireless card, the bandwidth measures what i would expect it to.

the problem is when i connect the ethernet jack. the internet slows to a crawl (with or without the wireless radio activated) and is so slow i can't even successfully do the bandwidth test. i used "update driver" in the device manager and windows found a newer driver, but not the newest one that's available that you've linked here.

when i try to run the setup.exe for the latest driver, it says "software already installed. please uninstall." i've uninstalled the device then tried to run setup and i get the same message. if i uninstall then restart the computer windows just finds the existing driver and reinstalls it. does anyone have the non .exe version of the driver with a .inf?

is anyone else having problems with the marvell yukon ethernet controller simply not working? this is very frustrating because i have 100 Mbps internet available and right now i'm forced to use wireless @ 10 Mbps. big difference!
