Well considering my laptop won't turn on with the 175.75 drivers, I am probably going to try the ones from the site I posted. All I have to do is take my battery out and unplug the AC, then hold the power button for around 20 seconds and then it will start again. Silly drivers :)

175.63 are the best drivers for 8700SLI. No glitches or crashes. I use them about a month without any problems.

    Greetings

Hello, my girlfriend and i have identical systems but when we both install the tweakforce 175.63 driver everything runs smoothly for me but she gets little pink dots (artifacts) in the darker areas of her screen. We've reinstalled the driver numerous times and have used driver sweeper as suggested on this forum. For me it runs smoothly wich doesn't make sense to me. Other drivers don't do this and haven't given her issues like this so i don't think it's a faulty video card. Any ideas?

When i say identical systems, i really mean identical (only difference is our external monitors and software ofc) ;)

@Dready - That is what a lot of us here experience. For one reason or another, some drivers tend to like some systems more than others because of changes in the registry over time, or certain software installed.

    I hate drivers :(

Re: Screen Flickering - Try turning off VSync. If the tearing gets too bad, instead undo the fixed aspect ratio scaling option, and/or make sure you play your games in a true 16:10 resolution like 1280x800 and not 16:9 (1280x720, etc.).

BTW, I'm back on the XG Drivers, as the AW betas didn't give me many resolution options, and for some strange reason disabled Dx10 in Bioshock.

@Dready and Highrise, I know you did but I have to ask, just incase. Did you use Driver Cleaner and rebooted before installing the new driver? I use to have similar issues if I didn't properly uninstall. Sometimes I had to run the cleaner a few times and make sure I didn't let Windows automatically install new drivers.

@eightd Yeah we used driver cleaner multiple times. After reinstalling the driver for the 7th time all seems to work for my girlfriends m9750 too at last. We've tested all sorts of games, done a bunch of reboots, it hasn't failed once. Why or what changed, i have no idea but since it's working i'm not gonna fiddle with it any more now. :)

I have a question. If I would upgrade my M9750 from 2gigs of RAM to 4gigs of RAM would that greatly increase the performance of my games? I'm getting unnecessary frame drops in TF2, Portal, STALKER, and etc. Never had this problem with Windows XP, but I had to come back to Vista for certain reasons. I just want to know if it will do me any good. Thanks!

Not really, since you'll only win 500 MB. I'm, among many others, permanently stuck at 2556 MB and I'm not even sure why.

    @Caffeinated Box

You will get a little gain in stablity. It should help a little with your drops in FPS, IF those drops are memory caused. Anything to pervent the OS from writing to the swap file will help. The extra 512mb may give you that room, but as everyone knows vista is a memory hog and if you provide it Vista will use it. But the increase in memory most likely will not increase performance.

Your autoplay option might be turned off. Try this-click on your Computer icon to open it. Right-click on the CD (D: drive on mine) icon and from the popup menu select Open. That should do it.

do these audio drivers actually make a significant difference? i updated to the previous ones and i cannot tell a difference really other than the low end tones seem much quieter, regardless if i have the equalizer set up to have them louder than the rest of the frequencies.

I don't think so. It is strange that they release a new Audio driver every 2 weeks without fail. They either have the buggiest software known to man or this an all in one driver for multiple hardware.

Tried the latest Tweakforce Xtreme G a few days ago, got an error spouting that the video driver nv4_disp wasn't responding, followed by a BSOD. I fell back to the Alienware stock drivers, but I may try again later.

i'm on 177.66 now, the only Problem is if a game drops below 40 FPS, you'll feel like its 2 FPS (except for Crysis it still runs great on low Frames) but i dont think anyone would be dipping that low on any game.

I notice there is a new 175.28 Beta driver for the 8700m for Vista on the Alienware support site. This one should have DX10 support unlike the 173.53.

I've just installed the official alienware 175.28 Beta driver.

I ran the Devil May Cry 4 benchmark just to test if everything was working correctly.

Previously the benchmark would give me a C rank. This time it gave me the maximum mark of 'S'. As in super.

Average fps, and this is no exaggeration, doubled in all four scenes.

I haven't tried any other games and this could just be some weird anomaly with the DMC4 benchmark, but thought you guys might want to give it a try too.

    Went back to the 173.53

    Powermizer works !!!
I do this mistake when i stop some services from Nvidia :Nvidia display drivers service and NVCPL at windows startup...
    Sorry for that :/
But my GPU still run full when i'm plugged and just net surfing.
Everest tell me there is possibility to have 200/400 in "low 3D program", but it seems it doesn't work : I am at 200/400 only unplugged.
