I have a m15x-r1 that I installed windows 7 on. The led lights are always the same color and I can't shut them off. I read that alienfx let you change the lights but can't find it. Anyone have it?

Are you talking about a legacy 15x? Meaning - pre-dell 15x?
If so, you need to stick with the legacy fx program. The current Command Center which includes AlienFX is for the current line of Dell/AW notebooks.
For the legacy 15x, you'll need to check with the folks in the legacy subforum. Probably will need to get setup over @ the My Hive site ( http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Support_Area.aspx)
If in fact you have a DELL/Alienware M15x (ALL POWERFUL), then the Command Center will include AlienFX. See this link:
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=402594
Remember, the Command Center I listed is only for the Dell/AW M15x. -

Yes this is the legacy m15x not M15X. Is there a general program to use for led lights? Seems like this is way over my head to install it.

just check out the link i just posted should have all the driver and command center stuff in there for you. yeah that system wasn't meant for win7 so the drivers in that link is pretty much it.

I tried the win 7 64 bit osd but it says cpu not supported. I think I installed the vista 32 bit osd since fn12 works and I can get the menu to shut off wifi and 6 other boxes to come up.

thats the only workaround that i know of, either try to get the 64bit or go back to vista. sorry can't help much.

mobing to legacy forum for better visibility...

for alienFX you coudl try using the new command center cause for the m17 the new command center works on it and there is suport for it in the fusion and etc service
where can I get the Alienfx program?
