Anyone tried the Witcher? Thinking about buying an external DVD Drive so i can play this. Originally completed the game on my ancient MSI 1029 laptop - 800x600 on LOW settings, would love to play the game as it was intended.

I played it on my m11x for a few hours over the weekend, the frame rate can drag a bit at times but it was playable enough for me. I don't have it on me right now but I can pull it later and see what my settings were at and post a screenshot.

Oh good, i'll obviously not be running AA or Antisophic filtering.. quite happy if it runs on a mixture of med/high settings.

I actually have been playing it with 2x AA on, I can't really remember all the other settings I was running. The game is prone to some random frame rate drops, but I think that likely has more to do with the CPU then any graphical settings. When I snapped these shots the game was sitting in high 50s fps, so outside of the aforementioned random frame rate dips it runs great. I can go dig up the save files on my other computer to try out some of the later more graphically intensive areas when I'm feeling a bit more motivated.

Thanks mate, looks pretty nice.. no doubt the frame rates would take a hit inside the City of Vizima. I'll probably order an external DVD drive tmw, bought quite a few newish games from Amazon i'd like to try as well.

Do the mods wanna do something about this thread, like moving it into the "Alienware Owners' Lounges, Guides and Large Threads" section?

    Hey guys!

Im new to this forum and currently own an m11x R1 =]
I have Team fortress 2 installed along with the rest of the orange box

One thing im wondering is how you managed to attain those speeds in the game ( Also referring to the Crysis vid posted early on high settings how thats possible )

I can only manage that if my vsync is turned off and If I let my Nvidia 335m run the Physx...

I know Physx doesnt really do much but for some reason it enhances my fps, but yeah im not sure what im doing wrong .__.

    Hey buddy,
make sure to whitelist the game you want to play by going into the NVIDIA Control Panel! Also, don't forget to put your PC battery mode in High Performance! And not balanced as default!
    Hope this helps

I have done quite a few M11x R2 gameplay videos, both Fraps and cam. You can check my channel out here: ‪thedarkdomino's Channel‬‏ - YouTube

I will be doing gameplay vids of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim when it comes out. So expect that in the months to come.

Im wondering if the OP had vsync on for team fortress 2 ( honestly cant sift through 12 pages of this thread x-x )

    without vsync = 80-100fps
    with vsync = 40-60 fps

and yeah I do have it on High Performance and Nvidia card.

sidenote = does having the high performance option ruin the battery?

No. It will just drain it more quickly. So I guess effectively over the long term, it's life will be diminished more quickly.
